Leafy, weedy hops accompanied by biscuity malts fill a foamy, highly citric and grapefruity palate. A faint earthiness joins in, but the malts aren’t strong enough to support those all-out inelegant hops. Light bodied, bitter, dry and moderately high carbonation. The Lure: Overtly Cascade-y hop fruitiness benefiting from vague caramel malt sweetness. This one has a singular purpose, and it is announced loud and clear.
The Festivities: Leafy hop bitterness is nagging, somewhat like their ESB’s was today. Feeble-bodied, made for chugging, with plenty of hop flavors. Not the most boring amber ale, but a weird and hoppy one.
Transcendence: It’s hard to hear you talking with all that noise. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Sweet malty aroma with lots of caramel and crystal malt sweetness. A bit of lightly fruity hops, but fairly low bitterness. Like most ambers, it just comes across sort of boring and uninspired. Their booth employees were super friendly (one of the ladies even lent me her glass so I could share their imperial stout with an Ortleib’s buddy). Don’t get me wrong, it’s all about the beer, and man did Triumph deliver big time! This draft amber ale poured dark amber, with a great head and lacing. Nice hop, malt, and brown sugar aroma. Tastes malty, sweet, with a finish of caramel and nice hoppiness. Very complex. Marvelous beer. One of my favorite ambers.
