Commercial Description:
A hybrid style created by crossing our coffee stout with milk stout. Adding unfermentable milk sugar (lactose) in the kettle results in a texture that is rich, chewy and, quite literally, creamy.

Sampler at Princeton. A dark, flat, brown color with a tan thick, great head. A very heavy weight on the tongue, with musky chocolate, coffee, and nut flavors and aroma. Very hoppy. A great stout.

On tap at the Downtown Philly location. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of coffee (originally I was getting lighter coffee but as I drank more and smelled more, the coffee got stronger in the aromas), roast, lactose, and some chocolate. Tastes of coffee, lactose, cream, caramel, roast, and light chocolate. Lacing left on the glass.

On tap at the 2007 GABF: Nearly opaque dark mahogany with a small creamy dark tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and chocolate with a hint of espresso. Body starts fairly thin with a lightly caramel maltiness and some smooth mild dark chocolate and coffee. Very drinkable but needs more body.

On tap at the brew pub in Philly. Really nice stout. Coffee aroma and flavor and a wonderful creamy feel. Nice and malty. Chocolate comes through. Dry finish. Good stuff.

On draught at the Princeton location: Pours flat black with a medium thick tan head that has good retention. Patchy lacing. Aroma of coffee with roasted malt and hops. Full-bodied with a robust coffee character. Flavors of sweet chocolate and roasted malt along with a fair amount of bitter hops. The finish is creamy and smooth with a tasty coffee flavor and aftertaste. Overall this is a solid coffee Stout.
