The aroma has notes of freezed dried coffee (arggh) with minor lactic twang and some grassy hops. The flavor sadly was more of the same, a fake coffee flavor which ruins any mocha and caramel goodness. Light berry and grassy notes as well. The feel is okay, a bit watery. I will take a pass and agree with Walt on this one. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2005 Lasting rocky dark beige head hangs above the very close to black glow. Big roasted grain jumps in the nose, procuring the desired coffee notes blended with dark chocolate and supporting blackberry and grape fruitiness. The impressive part is how it hints at vanilla while being pretty dry on the palate, pushing its fortune to suggesting earthy and woody tones, all of which contribute to an atypical offering. Medium bodied, creamy texture, light carbonation, roasty and dry. Good stout. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

The flavor is similar but w/ more dark chocolate. Mouthfeel too thin. A very nice creamy, sweet stout. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 3, 2005 Amazingly smile inducing aroma of, believe it or not, coffee and quality sweet cream. Black with a solid mocha head. Smooth, sweet and creamy with a lot of milkyness and ample roasted coffee flavors. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2005 On tap at the Princeton BP. By far the best beer sampled today. Black with a thick tan head. Nice coffee aroma with lots of roasted malt and dark chocolate.
Flavor was a terrific blend of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. Could not make out any cream in the flavor, but the palate was definitely creamy. A wee bit thin or else the palate would have been perfect IMO. If this was bottled I would buy it all the time. Ungstrup (15250), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2005 [At GABF 2004] A red-brown beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma contains loads of coffee and chocolate - nice. The flavor is sweet with chocolate being the most dominant - the coffee lingers far in the background, but the mouthfeel is flat. zathrus13 (1300), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
