Commercial Description:
A hybrid style created by crossing our coffee stout with milk stout. Adding unfermentable milk sugar (lactose) in the kettle results in a texture that is rich, chewy and, quite literally, creamy.

NJ Brewers Fest. Dark color with a slight bit of red when held up to the sunlight. Nice cocoa and coffee aroma. Taste is silky smooth and beautifully sweet. Roasted flavors and hop bitterness round it out making it well balanced. Fantastic.

Fantastic large tan creamny head tops this nearly opaque stout. Fine lacing accompanies the roasted sweet coffee flavor and nose. This brew starts off moderately sweet and as the sweetness declines, the bitterness rises ending in a long oily finish. Milk is apparent throughout the body.

Had the sampler. Third up was this gem. Pristine appearance, with a light brown head sitting on top of a dark brown body. Aroma is roasted coffee with overtones of chocolate malts. A creamy experience on the palate with enjoyable roasted coffee flavor. It is rounded nicely with a helping of hops, but not to overpowering. Can’t wait to have another.

Black body with nitro head. Aroma is sweet, coffee, some chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, roasty, coffee, some chocolate, finishing coffee roasty. Watery, light-medium body.

Tap at NJ fest ’04. Nice deep deep brown, tan head. Aroma and flavor like creamed coffee, with a nice round malty roasty flavor. How do they get that cream flavor in there?

06.25.04 Princeton. Stout looking with creamy head and coating lace. Big coffee & cream nose. huh, how’d they get a cream-like aroma? Tastes just like coffee with cream. It’s uncanny. Thin and dryish body with nice lactic (go figure) acid bitter finish. Another top notch Triumph brew.

Cool concoction! Need to be in the mood. Very much an overly coffeed taste (I like coffee) mixed nicely with a smooth headed creaminess. Deep drk roasted in color. A brunch or top it off I’m done with desert brew. I’ve rated it for the style.

Sample at the New Hope, PA location. Opaque walnut, ultra-thick brown head, thick lacing. Big bullish coffee nose...ultra smooth, oily textured...cafe latte with alcohol, becomes somewhat sour and lactic, tannic wine at the end. Not as thick as it could be.
