Jun 5, 2005 [At GABF 2004] A red-brown beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma contains loads of coffee and chocolate - nice. The flavor is sweet with chocolate being the most dominant - the coffee lingers far in the background, but the mouthfeel is flat.

Dec 2, 2007 On tap at the Downtown Philly location. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of coffee (originally I was getting lighter coffee but as I drank more and smelled more, the coffee got stronger in the aromas), roast, lactose, and some chocolate. Tastes of coffee, lactose, cream, caramel, roast, and light chocolate. Lacing left on the glass.

Oct 5, 2005 Lasting rocky dark beige head hangs above the very close to black glow. Big roasted grain jumps in the nose, procuring the desired coffee notes blended with dark chocolate and supporting blackberry and grape fruitiness. The impressive part is how it hints at vanilla while being pretty dry on the palate, pushing its fortune to suggesting earthy and woody tones, all of which contribute to an atypical offering. Medium bodied, creamy texture, light carbonation, roasty and dry. Good stout.

May 14, 2006 on tap-pours a creamy tan head that laces with black color. Aroma is coffee, dark malt. Taste is a regular coffee (one cream & one sugar), with mild carbonation, chewy. Not my taste.
