jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Aug 28, 2006 on tap-pours a thick creamy shaving cream white head with cloudy yellow color. Aroma is wheat, clove. Taste is wheat, clove, cinnamon, banana, citrus, creamy, mellow. OK carbonation. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Aug 24, 2006 sampled in princeton. hazy straw color. Aroma on this beer was of pronounced banana, bready yeast, and some light grains and spices. Taste is the same. clean finish. the body is thin on this beer and the carbonation is good. another well made beer by Triumph. Cornboy (417), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA Jan 3, 2006 First of all, I have a bias toward Triumph and most hefeweizens I admit. My notes are from a few months back, but here goes.
Pours cloudy, exactly as expected for the style. Aromas of clove, slightest hint of bubblegum/banana bread, didnt get much of a nutty flavor, but wasnt my first beer so my tastes may be off a bit. Best way to describe it is a hefe-light, but very similar in taste and experience. Quite quaffable! willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Jul 2, 2005 06.30.05 Tap at Princeton. Spelt. What is this, some kind of hippie beer? Not in Princeton? This isn’t organic, I hope...
Pour is a lightly clouded golden with fair and lasting white head. Aromas hint at banana but without the usually associated clove. In it’s (the spice) place seems to have been inserted some tartness, somewhat biting, that must be the effect of the spelt that has infiltrated this hefe. I don’t know that it’s so much nutty as it is lacking in more bold flavors that sometimes mask modern wheat’s natural nutty character. Definitely bready. Sweet, wet finish, low eff, thin body. Eh. I can see why spelt isn’t used much anymore in brewing. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA Jun 26, 2005 Thanks to whoever added this beer. The taste was different than a typical wheat beer in that it was more tart. Also there was a nutty flavor which was quite unique making a banana bread finish. Really good. I hope they keep this on tap especially in this type of weather. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA Jun 24, 2005 Dinkel divine? Oh it is. Looks beautiful and delicious. Triumph does it again. Dinkel spelts delicious. Jine (889), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Jun 23, 2005 6.21.05 at Princeton brewpub. Really liked this, had second one quickly after the first. Unfiltered, very cloudy. Looked magical. Lots of bubblegum type aromas. Banana-nut flavors. Delicous. Triumph is great as usual
