jcwattsrugger (4272), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Dec 7, 2008 at Princeton Dortmunder Export–growler-pours a white head that laces and yellow/gold color. Aroma is mild bread/light malt, grassy. Taste is bread/light malt, grassy/spice[?] hops. Leans to a creamy mouth feel and medium body instead of effervescent and light body. beerbuzzmontreal (2771), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 25, 2008 Pours a clear gold color with a thin white head. Pleasant aroma of malt, some honeyish sweetness and hops. Good balanced flavor of hops, malt and some honeyish sweetness. The body is light while the carbonation is gentle. Interesting. Glouglouburp (2113), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 10, 2008 In short: Nice blonde session lager. Well brewed, nothing stands out.
How: Post-Mondial 2008 tasting session. Hand-bottles brought to Montreal by Dickinsonbeer. Paul rules!
The look: Clear blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Unmistakable larger sensation, some fruity notes of citrus and pineapples, some dry grassy hops in the finish. This is a nice little session lager, well made, well balanced but not very memorable. Highly drinkable even if nothing special. I cannot really tell you how true to the Dortmunder it is as I’m really not familiar enough with the style. I am actually so unfamiliar with the style that until recently I thought a Dortmunder was a Star Wars villain. mabel (1748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2008 [1458-20080531] Bottle. Wheat germ bread yeast aroma has a bit of flower. Clear, light orange yellow body with quick white bubbles. Bit of yeasty bread flavour has some wheat. Light body. Nice yeast, fair.
(Post-Mondial Tasting) emacgee (1305), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 9, 2008 Thanks to hophead75. Pours a pale hazy gold. Has a white head. Sweet grassy nose with some bready malt. Bitter. Hay in the flavor, earthy, malty, nice balance. Very sessoinable.
