On draft in New Hope. Gorgeous pint: creamy head, thick lacing. Up there with the double IPAs of late: DFH 90 and Great Divide Hercules. Big hop presence, alcohol well hidden, a big flavorful brew, a touch less aggressive than the DIPAs. Worth the trip to New Hope.

Bitter and rigid, but wonderful. Nice regal-looking color. Sweet palate. A new taste in a New Hope. (200th rating.)

09.25.04 Tap @ NH. Looks thick, dark amber. Coating, rocky head fades to halo. Big citrus, orange, pine, c-hop aroma. Nice lacing, Some candy sweetness up front, then it’s all hoppy, tingly goodness. Finishes blazingly bitter. I’m quite impressed with this effort from my favorite BP.

On tap in New Hope. A great brew, probably the best one they had that day. Darker more powerful version of their original Amber. Hoppier, but not overly so. A fine brew overall.

On tap at Triumph in New Hope. Poured a dark mahogany with an averaged sized off white head. Citris (oranges) tastes and aromas. Nice malty balance to the nice bitter side. A very good beer (my favorite that I had there today). I would get this again.

On tap at New Hope. Wow. Cloudy and brownish in color with a nice rich tan head. Fresh and hoppy aroma. Bold flavor. Excellent beer. Fresh hops and lots of them. Sweet malt flavor.

Tap at New Hope. Cloudy and brownish, with a nice rich, tan head. Fresh hoppy aroma. Big bold flavor. Lots of fresh flavor hops. Sweet malt with moderate bitterness. The alcohol is noticeable but proper.

New Hope location. The last time I was at the New Hope Triumph, I was told the Double Amber was coming soon. I’ve been waiting to try it. The description says double the malt and double the hops of their original Amber, and thats exactly what this is. This is a very hoppy beer. Excellent
