| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 11, 2005 Hazy amber appearance, completed by a huge egg shell head. Served very warm, it bursts with soapiness in the nose, but the citric orangey and earthy fuggles? manage to slice through with ease, unlike the lacking malts. The final result is inevitable, there is no sweetness to tame the astringency. Very hoppy example, medium bodied with smooth, slow soft carbonation. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 12, 2005 On tap at the New Hope location:
The Lure: Resinous hops merge with their citrusy companions. A dry wooden character thrives within, this is apparently a jovial hop party.
The Festivities: A nagging back hoppiness recalls licking a hop pellet. A little too harsh for a bitter which doesn’t have any malt flavors to speak of. This is full of green, leafy, and soapy hop personalities which get along well until they crash into that screeching, astringent bitterness.
Transcendence: Raking the leaves off the lawn, and pressing a little too hard. JoeMcPhee (5025), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 29, 2008 Handpump at the Princeton location. Aroma is quite fruity with lots of cherry and berry character. A light earthy grainy malt base and a fairly low spicy hoppiness. It could use a slightly higher hopping rate or a bit of dry hops as well. Decent ESB. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
