Commercial Description:
An old fashioned Bavarian favorite, this "yeast-wheat" style has enjoyed a popular revival in recent years. Made from a 60wheat mash and fermented with a special strain of yeast, its complex flavor, with notes of clove, banana and vanilla, is unique in the world of beer.

Tap @ Triumph Philly. Poured a hazy dark golden color. The aroma had very big banana notes with some clove and licorice underneath. The flavor had banana and big clove with a mildly tart/citric finish that drys out a good bit at the very end. Mild spice.

New Hope. This is an excellent hefe, and true to the style in every way. Pours a nice slightly cloudy yellow/gold with a nice long lasting pure white head and great lace. Aroma is mixed beautifully with all the best parts of a hefe- spicy clove-like phenols and vanilla with estery banana and lots of sweet wheat malts. Flavor is well rounded with moderate yeast character, sweet malts, and a spicy phenolic and light hoppy bitter finish. Very smooth overall, and very easy to drink. Well done.

Growler from New Hope location. Pours a hazy golden amber with an average foamy yet bubbly off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of wheat, clove, some banana, toasty, citrus and dish soap. Flavor was more of the same with more of the yeast coming through as well as the toastiness and other spices.
