| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Draft at New Hope. Pale golden body with nice size head. Aroma is crisp with malt and some citrus hops. Flavor is very bitter with a nice citrus kick to it. SDespite the bitterness this was smooth and enjoyable. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 21, 2007 Golden color with a light, sweet and grainy aroma. Taste was crisp and refreshing with just enough hops to balance the grainy-fresh taste that dominates. A bit of honey thrown in too. Tasty lil’ brew. TomDecapolis (3194), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2007 On tap at the New Hope location. Pours a lightly hazy golden with a bubbly/creamy white head that left spotty lacing. Aroma was on the light side, grassy, grainy, malts but really mellow. Flavor of cereal grains, some grassiness, citrus, some hop bitterness followed by Cheerios. Nice Helles. willblake (2180), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 27, 2006 30.07.06 Tap at New Hope joint. Meaty golden color with a tenacious white head. aroma is malty and mineral almost like a baguette with salty butter and a hint of herby hops. Fairly hefty body, never sweet, and, in fact, a bit astringent although never really bitter. Nice enough stuff, but maybe not my thing. Reminds in some ways of a malt liquor or european strong lager, like one of those big Baltika beers. Huh. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 20, 2006 Tap at New Hope loc. Weird ball stank aroma, in a sorta manly good, but overly personal way. Very amber for a lager (this was just labeled as "lager" not "helles" but this seems to be the closest entry. Cranberry in the flavor?! honey bread currants. weird. malt funk holds it up. Cranberry juice tart palate, bitter. Interesting lager, but I didn’t really enjoy it. The aroma really turned me off from sipping this one extensively, over time. Sulphur on this batch was non-existant and was pleasantly malty and light noble hops all around. Great Helles. Tap at New Hope. Pours a nice clear medium gold with a nice lasting white head and good lace. Aroma is initially slight sulfur whihc turned me off to this beer but after a while it went away and gave way to a nice bready pils malt and light herbal and earthy noble hops. Flavor is moslty pils malt, the body isnt as fulll as it should be- a bit of hoppiness, but the body just wasnt up to par for a great Helles. Nice easy drinking lager though. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 24, 2005 New Hope location. Crystal clear, pale golden body and foamy white head. Gentle fresh pils malt aroma. Citrusy, grainy malt flavor. Very mild hop character although it does gradually emerge. Comes across fairly dry with some pale malty, sweet notes. A decent helles and a good refresher.
