clear brown, whispy head, streaks of lace, smokey banana aroma, smokey malt flavor, nice slightly sweet banana character, just the right amount of sweetness to balance the smoke, light bitterness, the smoke and banana makes a nice combination

Sampled from Growler, filled the day before, courtesy of egajdzis. Poured a deep and murky golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of bananas, smoke (the smoke in the aroma came out more as the beer warmed up), bubble gum and spices. Tastes of wheat, smoke, bananas (both smoke & bananas lighter in the tastes than the aromas), and spices. The smoked aspect was done nicely (wasn’t overpowering and worked well with everything else).

on tap-pours an offwhite head that laces with cloudy orange/brown color. Aroma is banana cream, vanilla, malt. Taste is smoked, banana cream, vanilla, clove, wheat, creamy. Medium-full body. Nice occasional beer.

Hand-bottle thanks to Dickinsonbeer, sampled in Nov. 2006: Pours a slightly hazy copper bronze with a thin ring of lightly-lacing off-white head. Great smoky wheaty banana clove aroma has good complexity. Body starts lightly sweet and malted wheaty with a nice balance of mild German hops. Palate is average, but could be a touch thicker. Very true to style, however, and enjoyable.

Poured a hazy amber color. Huge smokey aroma that smells a like spent fireworks, but not in a bad way. Flavor of smoke and bananas. Light to medium bodyied. Semi-dry finish with a hint of spice.

Poured a cloudy golden color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of banana, caramel malts, clove and nuts, with subtle hints of smoked wood in the background. Taste was refreshing like a nice German hefe, with banana, light clove and citrus fruits, with a really nice, smokey meat taste coming through strong.

Last HWOH from Growler. Pours a very cloudy trubid, orange/yellow with an ok white head. Aroma is wheaty, light banana and clove, lightly herbal with just a hint of smoke. Smoke lucklily comes through a bit more in the flavor, and goes very well with the wheat, banana nd clove- similar to the Schlenkerla, but not quite as intense with the smoke. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Thanks to egajdzis for sharing this growler from the Princeton location. Pours a hazy golden, orange, brown...almost cider light in appearance with an average white fomany head. Aroma of banana, bubblegum, wheat, light smoked meats, yeast and some various spices. Flavor of smoked meats, wheat, lemon, banana, yeast. A nice smoked Hefe. Only downside was it was a bit thin.
