Jun 15, 2004 Updated: Dec 10, 2008[bottle] Pours a clear red color with a thick and fluffy off white head. Good aroma that is a perfect balance of sweet malts and hops, although there is a touch more malt than hop. Solid malt flavor with a semi-sweet backbone and a nice hoppy bite at the end. May 7, 2004 Crisp and fresh. Light body. Taste gives some graininess, detracting from this otherwise refreshing pale yellow lager.

Apr 17, 2004 12oz. bottle: It pours a dark golden color. A bit of an off-white head that doesn't linger. It has a lighter, sweeter aroma that has a hint of spiciness and breadiness to it. Matly sweet taste. Slight taste of hops and spiciness. Much better than the typical industrial lager. Goes down well.

Apr 4, 2004 The palate of this was very nice - medium-thick malts (sweet/bready) with soft carbonation. Hops were at odds with the sweet malts though.

Mar 31, 2004 Updated: Aug 12, 2007One of the better basic lagers that I have had recently. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a beautiful dark red-brown with a small tan head. It is heavily carbonated. There is a moderate malty scent. The flavor is malty and sweet. The maltiness lingers. This beer lacks the typical macro aftertaste common to so many lagers - And a big plus in this beer’s favor IMHO. This is a very nice lager that I will have to check out again.

Mar 16, 2004 Copper color with a fluffy, off-white head. Malty sweet aroma, nothing fancy. Medium mouth, smooth roasted malt flavor, a bit of grainyness. Finishes lightly bitter. Very nice.

Mar 14, 2004 Good spicey hop aroma with malt rounding it out. Poured with a full cream colored head that hung in for a while. Clear amber colored beer. Good hop flavor with a nice malt sweetness in the finsh. A very good bavarian style lager, I will be drinking more of these!
