Pours a dark brown bordering on black with a fuzzy tan head, leaves a bit of lacing on the glass. On the nose, lots of citrus hops ride on a solid chocolate, roasty backbone. Roasty, chocolate, lightly acidic, lots of bitterness to the finish. Well carbed, light in the mouth. Solid porter, hoppy and nice. Parrothead (187), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 30, 2009 12oz bottle. About as black as you can get, decent enough tan head. Chocolate, coffee, creamy - heck, almost chewy, toffee, roasty, toasty but plenty of hops to offset the malt. My new favorite porter. watson1977 (282), , Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2009 Poured from a 12-0z bottle. A dark, brown beer with some ruby highlights at the edge. Aroma of roasted malt and sweet milk chocolate. A chocolate malty taste, with roasted flavors also coming through. Hoppier than most porters, with the nice bitter finish. biznizness (956), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
