Commercial Description:
Dead Reckoning is unfiltered and weighs in at 5.8% abv and 53 IBU’s. It features Pilsner, Caramel, Chocolate and Roasted malts along with Chinook and Vanguard hops. “The outstanding taste and flavor of Dead Reckoning originates in the chocolate and roasted malts,” says John Trogner. “There is a nice hoppiness in the front of the beer, but the rich, smooth mouth feel is what really stands out.”

12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown bordering on black with a fuzzy tan head, leaves a bit of lacing on the glass. On the nose, lots of citrus hops ride on a solid chocolate, roasty backbone. Roasty, chocolate, lightly acidic, lots of bitterness to the finish. Well carbed, light in the mouth. Solid porter, hoppy and nice.

12oz bottle. About as black as you can get, decent enough tan head. Chocolate, coffee, creamy - heck, almost chewy, toffee, roasty, toasty but plenty of hops to offset the malt. My new favorite porter.

Lots of chocolate and lots of hops. Very hoppy for a porter, but full of flavor. Good beer. Will buy again.

12 oz bottle from my Secret Santa. Pours blackish brown with a thick tan head. Great aroma of chocolate, citrus and grassy hops. Nice dry coffee like flavor with a good balance of chocolate malt and roasted grains. Very smooth with a nice touch of hop bitterness to balance it all out. Very good porter.

Poured from a 12-0z bottle. A dark, brown beer with some ruby highlights at the edge. Aroma of roasted malt and sweet milk chocolate. A chocolate malty taste, with roasted flavors also coming through. Hoppier than most porters, with the nice bitter finish.

What an awesome, awesome porter. Picked up a 6 of this at the brewery while in H-burg. Bold porter flavor topped with a hoppy finish. Outstanding.
