Commercial Description:
Dead Reckoning is unfiltered and weighs in at 5.8% abv and 53 IBU’s. It features Pilsner, Caramel, Chocolate and Roasted malts along with Chinook and Vanguard hops. “The outstanding taste and flavor of Dead Reckoning originates in the chocolate and roasted malts,” says John Trogner. “There is a nice hoppiness in the front of the beer, but the rich, smooth mouth feel is what really stands out.”

Bottle from Beerman6686. Poured a dark brown with a small head. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. This is more hopped than most porters. Flavor was a little tame and mouth a little thin. Roasted malts in the nose are not as big in the taste. Finish is bitter. Not a bad brew.

12 oz bottle. Pours to dark body with minimal caramel head. Lots of sediment. Not much of a nose but tastes pretty nice...strong malt and chocolate. A bit acidic. Just ok

12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a 1 inch tan head. Aroma of coffee and roasted barley. Surprising amount of hop nose for a porter. Flavor is very much like the nose, with a roasty coffee presence and a bit too much hop. Would like to keep one for a year or so and see if it changes anything.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Dark brown/black with lasting tan head and lace. Fruity roasted chocolate and yeast aroma. Roasted chocolate coffee dark fruit and mild smoke flavor with medium bitterness. Medium body and carbo. Nice and complex enough for a session porter.

Aroma is moderate dark sweet malts, some sweet fruit spice. It’s appearance is a dark body, little beige head. It’s flavor is of black patent malts, a flaover of coffee or extra roasted malts, with some bitter chocolate adjuncts. A bit astringent and a little thin. Ok.
