Medium bodied but with a tad thin in texture- which immediately stands out. Aroma of cocoa and black patent malts. Malt backbone is nutty with some accents of chocolate and dark roast. The middle has a very accentuated bitterness that carries through to the mildly dry finish. Not much residual sweetness, which I would balance things out for my personal taste. Tan head with strong roasted almond and toffee aroma. I pulled hints of moca on the first sip. Overall solid porter. I will buy this one again next season. obxdude10 (1566), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 11, 2008 Very dark brown color, ample beige head with excellent lacing left around the glass, rich aroma full of toasted oats, floral hops & chocolate, very smooth medium body, lots of hops up front, this seems very similar to DFH’s Indian Brown, once the hops subside the chocolatey notes take over with hints of roasted almonds & caramel, more bitter notes in the finish with a slight creamy tone, very enjoyable & delicious porter jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2008 12oz, pours a thin dark brown with lighter colors around the edges... small head which disappears quickly... front is hoppy but not over the top.. the finish is quick and smooth... the roasty taste that is traditional to a porter, however i dont get any chocolate or smoke as GLBC or Olfa gives. imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 8, 2008 Troegs does it again! One of the best porters i’ve ever had. Fairly hoppy for a porter. Try aging it for a while to let it settle a bit, you’ll be suprised. ubamartian (155), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Good lacing. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, and pine hops. Flavor is pine hops, with bits of roasted malts like coffee and chocolate. mouthfeel is thin for a porter, a bit bubbly, and smooth and silky at the same time, decent. Finishes dry and bitter from the hops. Kind of a hop amped porter, but pretty decent. I think hop heads would like this porter. Cletus (5060), Connecticut, USA

Smells of roasted coffee, chocolate, some spicy undertones. Tastes sweet and malty with a touch of bitterness as the beer warms. pet3rman (206), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2008 Pretty good stuff, but was missing that fullness that a lot of porters typically have. Aroma, Taste and Appearance were as expected. Would buy again.
