Commercial Description:
Dead Reckoning is unfiltered and weighs in at 5.8% abv and 53 IBU’s. It features Pilsner, Caramel, Chocolate and Roasted malts along with Chinook and Vanguard hops. “The outstanding taste and flavor of Dead Reckoning originates in the chocolate and roasted malts,” says John Trogner. “There is a nice hoppiness in the front of the beer, but the rich, smooth mouth feel is what really stands out.”

Deep brown with a creamy head. Light and crisp citrus hops up front with medium chocolate and malts to finish it out. Pretty smooth body. I thought it was a bit heavy on the citrus hops but still a very nice brew. Draught at South Park Tavern, Dayton.

Appearance is a beautifully black pour with two fingers of thick head that coats the glass as it disappears. Smells of milk and light chocolate with a hint of hops parading in the background. Tastes pretty light with very small hints of the smells noted. A bit on the watery side. Malty sweetness followed by a light bitter hoppy aftertaste. Body and carbonation is medium. Drinkability is mixed, while it is easy to drink, I’d probably pass this up for something with a little more flavor.

12oz bottle from grape & gourmet. pours a dark, translucent brown, with a thin, bubbly, light tan head and decent lacing. aroma is nice but strangely hoppy and floral for a porter with just a hint of nutty malts, dark fruits, and cocoa powder (almost like nugget nectar with chocolat malts). flavor is quite good and certainly hop forward with earthy and slightly piney hops up front balanced by roasted malts, a touch of chocolate, and a bitter, roast coffee finish. palate is faily light bodied and a bit watery with high carbonation. overall, and decent, hop forward, porter.

Bottle. Pours deep brown with medium sized tan head. Chocolate and roasted malts in the nose. Slight chocolate flavor with a roasted malt backbone, fairly bitter and dry, possible some almond nuttiness in there. Thin palate, goes bown quick and smooth. Decent, worth a try.

12 oz. bottle - thanks riverside!! pours thin, roasty brown with some nutty, soapy aromas; some chocolate is there; texture is thin and mildly malty; a pretty overage porter, but love the name!

Bottle Pours a good dark brown with a thin tan head. The head is creamy and mostly lasting. Laces very well. Has an intersting aroma that is fruity, floral, with some hops. The carbonation is good. Flavor is quite differnt than I expected. Has a sweet maltiness. Not what usually look for in a porter. Has a watery texture. A medium body. The finish is okay, with a decent aftertaste.

Bottle from KawaBomber, thanks mellissa. Pours a medium dark brown, light tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, light caramel notes, some hops, and even some sourness. Fairly generic porter, but well made.
