Bottle- Dark brown color, off white head. Hops meet chocolate malt. Smooth and rich. A little less hop usage would really make the malt and body shine through for me.

Nov 27, 2008 Bottle thanks to lukin013. Big aroma, roasted malt, chocolate, a little fruity. Black pour, thick tan head. In the mouth, the roasted malts and citric hops are both strong and well balanced. Some aniseed and earthy chocolate in the finish. Thick and smooth on the palate.

Nov 21, 2008 A black pour with a medium sized tan head. Aroma has hops and roasted malt. Chocolate malt flavor with some smoke, nuts, and a bit of hops. Finishes bitter with a tad hint of sweetness to round that out.

Nov 19, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown with a two-finger tan, frothy head with good retention. Good lacing. The aroma is of roasty malt with a slight tinge of coffee, and a wonderful citrus hop aroma. Taste is initially a citrus hop flavor followed by a roasty maltiness that is accompanied by hints of chocolate and coffee. Excellent balance. Medium body. Soft carbonation.
