Crisp, doughy aroma of minerals, cloves, banana, and warm bread that blankets the nostrils while exhaling. Pineapple and citrus. Flavor is juicy and yeast, citric and acidic with a dry wheat malt effect of crisp spice and nut skins. Surprising, creamy and chewy mouthfull; plenty of spark enlivening the delicate texture. An awesome tartness of apple cider, and cinnamon dusted pears gives a soft quenching effect, leading to a chewy warmth of malt and peppery clove smacking dryly in the aftertaste. Some serious, spot-on execution right here. Thanks Steve! kmweaver (2484), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2008 12oz bottle, courtesy of a trade from a bit ago (I’m losing track of trades at this point...). Thanks! I can’t believe I haven’t rated this beer yet. Pours a hazy, pale whitish-golden color; white head with patchy lacing. Generous amounts of clove, chewy banana, esters, and citrus in the aroma; just a touch of pepper. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lively carbonation; loads of chewy esters, creamy bananas, and a bit of drying cloves, along with a vibrant citrus / mineral bitterness and acidity; this is essentially my fall-back beer when the Schneider Weisse isn’t available or I don’t feel like spending $4 apiece; a generous, tasty German-style hefe. The acidity and creamy estery core do great things here. Medium finish, showing clove, bread, and some lingering spiciness; ends dry. Outchillen (29), Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2008 Bottled. Redolent smoky spicy wheat aroma with faint hints of banana. Pours beautiful hazy ashen gold body. Pure unadulterated wild wheat and Belgian spice that ravishes your palate then seduces you with a sweet banana and clove terminus. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Bottle. Poured cloudy yellow/orange with a moussy white head. Custardy yeast aroma with lemon, floral and straw notes. Bready wheat/yeast flavored with a slightly sweet lemony/fruitgum. Medium-full body with smooth carbonation. Good substance overall. Very decent take on an HW. TonyDiUlio (197), New Jersey, USA

A very good wheat. Strong aroma filled with some banana, spices, herbs, and wonderfulness. Flavor was delicious, a perfect blend of the spices, bananas, and everything else. Re-rated: Not bad. But not as good as i had said before. not much flavor for a wheat. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA

sensory first impression: Banana loveliness. Unfiltered styles are becoming a want for me. I feel like I’m getting the whole wheat, or something. ;) Head goes to nothing pretty quickly. Aroma is better than the taste itself, which is again, watery. the flavor that is there is very nice, but I feel like this is a light beer, and in a way it is, with the 4.8% abv. There is nice sort of rising bitterness, after a second. The color is beautiful, pale, frosted, and golden yellow.
