Commercial Description:
Long toasty days, cool breezy nights and a splash of magic provide the inspiration for the Troegs brothers’ dreamiest Single Batch creation—Dreamweaver Wheat. Combining four wheat types with Munich and Pils malts, noble Saaz hops, and a yeast strain that imparts a spicy, peppery, clove taste with a slight hint of bananas, Dreamweaver Wheat is an unfiltered blast of spicy, mouthwatering joy.

Sweet banana nose. Opaque apperance. Sticky palate. Starts with smooth banana and a carbonation bite. Finishes slowly.

This beer is all clove. In the nose, on the tongue, everywhere. Pours a golden, cloudy color with a big white head. Taste is clove, along with light orange, pepper and cotton. I sense a bit of sweet ester, but not much. A solid beer from a solid brewery that I would gladly drink again.

THOUGHTS: Would be very refreshing in the summer. I can’t really explain the aroma, but is is nice. Lemondy flavor with a little pepper. Aroma becomes a little harsh as it warmed. Drink this one before it gets warm ’cuase the flavor also gets a little funky as it warms. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a light to hazy, medium yellow with a huge, almost soapy looking white heat that mostly lasted and left fair lacing. The aroma was moderate to heavy light bread malt, light to moderate yeast, clove, lemon, pepper (very spicy) and wheat. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, acidic and bitter, while the finish was light to moderate acidic and both bitter and sour with a short duration. Also spicy. The body was light to medium and dry with fizzy carbonation and a lightly metallic finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy, light golden-orange, with a small white head and minimal lacing. Aromas of clove and banana. Wheat is the most prominent flavor with the clove and banana there as well. It has a decent amount of body for a wheat but still pretty refreshing.

2006 bottle. Pours a murky pale golden orange with a faint white head. Very nice banana clove ester aroma. Lots of clove flavor, but lacks some sweetness to counter it. Finish is spicy and peppery. Overall, this just comes across with too much spice, and not enough wheat and residual sweetness for my tastes.

Pours very hazy straw yellow with a small creamy white head. Sweet tropical fruit aroma, with a mild spicy note. Light fruity flavor, with some hints of hop spice unlike the clove I usually find in German wheat beers. Palate is light/medium, almost fruit smoothie like, with a hint of spice. Definately one of the better wheat beers I’ve had, and I usually don’t like these at all.
