| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 30, 2009 Big hazy, sunny yellow color. Puffy, pillowy head. Lots of carbonation. Hazy and misty. Awesome for style.
The smell is lemon, orange and a mild citrus hop. Spicy like a nice fruit. Adds needed spicy balance to the citrus. More spicy (Belgianish) as it warms.
The taste is very spicy on the front end, almost like a Belgian ale. Balanced at the back by sweet citrus fruit (orange/coriander). Sour at the swallow like lemon. Solid.
The feel is thick and chewy for a hefe. Has a nice spicy/citrusy bite at the swallow. A really nice, substantial and challenging for a hefe. Damn nice. Rutkiller (11), USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 29, 2009 I don’t particulary care for wheats, and this beer explains why. I found the aroma to be somewhat unappealing, as there were strong notes of clove and a slight banana scent. The flavor is much the same as the nose. Upon the pour, the beer had a thin white head, which disappeared quickly. Virtually no lacing left. The beer pours very cloudy and hazy, and looks like a wheat should. The feel in the mouth is very light. Overall, I was not very impressed with this beer. jb (1043), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Heavy cloves in the nose, very yeasty, a touch of banana. A bit on the filtered side, also was surprised the palate had a bit of hoppiness, along with citrus, banana and clove. This is a decent effort, usually I cringe at US companies calling something a hefe, but this one is close enough. Leighton (274), New York, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Absolutely solid. A very true representation of the hefeweizen style. Yeasty aroma with banana and clove notes. Tasted of hefe with mild citrus notes. Excellent mouthfeel and a savory finish. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2009 Hazy yellow, medium head. Typical wheat beer aroma, clove, banana, and wheat. Good mouth feel for a wheat, wheat is there, a bit of spice. Pretty decent overall. blankboy (3207), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 24, 2009 Bottle [12oz]. Pours a nice looking hazy yellow-gold with an average size frothy white head. Aroma of banana, wheat, sweet malt and light spices. Flavour of banana, lemon, wheat, spices and some sweetness. Decent bitterness in the finish. Average bodied. A good version of the style.
