Commercial Description:
Long toasty days, cool breezy nights and a splash of magic provide the inspiration for the Troegs brothers’ dreamiest Single Batch creation—Dreamweaver Wheat. Combining four wheat types with Munich and Pils malts, noble Saaz hops, and a yeast strain that imparts a spicy, peppery, clove taste with a slight hint of bananas, Dreamweaver Wheat is an unfiltered blast of spicy, mouthwatering joy.

I know that RateBeer says "German Hefeweizen" and far be it for me to dispute their style guide. I’ve never met an American wheat beer that is a true interpretation of the real deal. Troeg’s puts forth a faith effort, though, and is one of the tastier American-styled wheats I’ve tasted. Decent body (unfiltered but not all that heavy) with a good amount of clove in the aroma. Slightly acidic, but in a refreshing sort of way. Clove, banana, gumball, black pepper. I’m fairly impressed.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with medium head. The standard clove yeast smell. Taste was cloves, pils malt, a little banana. Light to medium body. Lively carbonation. A pretty good beer for a hefeweizen.

Bottle from Jeff (doclock) Thanks! Pours out a bright yellow color with a white head initially which gives way to no head at all, kind of like this old girl friend i had that wasnt worth a shit. Smell is mostly banana, clove, some hops. Taste is smooth and fruity very full of bananas and lemons. Possibly even some orange. A pretty good take on a hefe actually. Decent stuff.

Bottle. Decent, but frankly didn’t think it was that spectacular. Very grainy, with some banana and lemon.

bottle-sampled at the brickskellar in DC. lighty hazy yellow with a fizzy white head. nose is banana esters and light grains. banana, grains and lemon on the flavors. pretty basic but solid rendition of a hefe. palate is solid and not as carbonated as expected. could be a good session beer here in DC for me. would like to try it more fresh someday.

On draft at the Newtown Brewfest with Mad Indian and Beerded_one. Pours hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma of spices, wheat, bananas, citrus, and saaz hops. The flavor is bananas, wheat, spices, and a slight hoppy character in the finish. Good body, damn good brew.
