Commercial Description:
Troegs HopBack Amber gets its unique name and taste from the HopBack Vessel in our brewhouse. Packed full of whole flower hops, each batch circulates through the vessel, creating a fresh hoppy aroma, spicy taste and rich caramel note that defines this signature amber ale.

Pours an orangish amber, light head. Nice floral aroma. Excellent hop flavor and nice bitterness. Clean finish that leaves you wanting another one. At 6.0 they sneak up on you. This beer is a must for hopheads.

Courtesy MrChopin. Clear amber. Small off white head. Great balance of toasty malt and fresh hops combine for a spicy, fruity, and mildly sweet brew. Medium body, balanced carbonation. Easy drinking session brew with plenty of character.

Draught. Clear amber with a sticky head. Fresh hoppy nose in a floral, resiny, citrucy fashion. Pretty clean caramel malt flavor with lots of juicy hop flavor. Reminds me of nugget nectar session version, but what did I expect. Solid amber ale.

On tap at Dilly Deli. Ruby amber with a small tan head. Aroma of citrus and sweet malts. Bold flavor of citrus hops, especially for the style, with a nice malt profile of caramel sweetness. Balanced mouthfeel. Good for a summer session.

Bottle from MrChopin. Pours a nice medium amber color with an off white head that left great lacing. Great nose of toasted malts, wheat, and a touch of hops. The hops were much more developed in the flavor. A nice toasty finish.

Tap at a Georgetown bar in DC. Decent. The hop flavor was a little stale and cheesy. Maybe dirty tap lines? The caramel seemed evident until I drank a year old Alpha King directly afterward.

Bottle 355ml
Appearance: dark amber with reddish hue. Medium neatly contrasting snowy cover.
Nose: Soft , light aromatic hop nose. Fruity , flowery , green organic aroma of garden after spring rain. Light amber malt hints followed. 8-
Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied. Solid hop profile, fresh, clean straight properly brewed American Bitter. Enough malt at base to balance more or less. Neat hop sided session brew.

Bottle. Deep mahagony color with a small white head. Aroma is very malty and not as hoppy as I would have expected or liked. I get some faint yeasty aromas as well. Flavor is malty up front followed by a very light dose of hops. The finish is tart and lemony. Pretty nice beer. Should be more hoppy however.
