Nov 9, 2009 Clear amber pour with medium carbonation and a half finger off white head. Aroma is toasty malt with some citrus, some grain, and caramel. Some slight flowery notes come in near the end of the sniff. Flavor is caramel malt with a balancing nondescript hop bitterness that provides nice balance. Palate is medium bodied with medium carbonation and a clean smacking finish. Very well put together.

Nov 9, 2009 Certainly an amber pour with an off white, bubbly head. Aroma holds toasty malt, caramel, grain, and some citrus and floral hop character. Flavor is sweet, with more caramel malt, and some sweet spices, perhaps nutmeg. Hop character is present but very subtle, with a bit of fresh floral presence. Palate is a bit thin, but certainly drinkable. Good session beer; just not a great style, but clearly a well crafted beer.

Nov 9, 2009 33cl bott@Strasbourg Mondial de la Biere. Nice golden-amber color. Interesting nose. Lemony. Zesty. Clean and sharp. Nearly tasteless. Low malt profile, bit of hops, just a point. Nothing else. Disappointing. Lighly bodied.

Nov 8, 2009 Bottle. Floral aroma, deep amber color, minimal head. Medium flavor, medium body, creamy texture and fizzy carbonation with a long finish. Enjoyed, a bit hoppy with a long, hoppy finish.

Nov 7, 2009 On tap at Fat Bob’s in Buffalo. Amber pour, very hoppy for an amber. Citrusy smell, but slightly deeper than an IPA in terms of flavor. Piney scent and taste too. This was a lot more hoppier than was expecting although I should have realized it, given the Hopback name.

Nov 6, 2009 Poured a deep red amber with a good head and medium lacing. Smelled of hops and citrus. Tasted of hops, citrus with a caramel sweetness to temper the bitterness of the hops. Finishes with a bitter yet sweet taste that leaves the mouth a little dry. Enjoyable.

Nov 1, 2009 [2521-20091009] 12floz bottle. Grass clippings and bread hops aroma with some fresh citrus rind. Clear, dark orange amber body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Rich grainy metallic grassy hops flavour. Full body is bitter. Quite tasty, good balance though hints at being old.
