A little too bitter in my opinion. Not too heavy though. I prefer the aroma to the flavor. Not a beer I’d drink solo at the end of the day, but certainly it would be good paired with a meal.

May 31, 2008 Bottle courtesy of abcfan, pours dark amber with half finger white head. Aroma is not strong but some sweet malt and light hops. Taste is similar to aroma with clean finish. Really good beer.

May 21, 2008 Out of a sixter. Really quality stuff. Dark amber color with a large head. Great aroma of pine and citrus. Just a wonderful hop flavor with a very good balance.

May 18, 2008 On tap, this poured a good dark amber color, with a good whiteish head. Great hop smell, with a great hop taste, not to overpowering. Had a good malt bite also present. The head was perfect all the way down the glass. I would buy It again.

May 14, 2008 Best session beer i ever had!Beautiful hop aroma with slight grapefruit maybe a very slight spice and good solid caramel malt backbone.Flavor perfectly matching the aroma.Not to bitter but yet very hoppy.Good complexity but very drinkable.
Very well balanced.Beautiful deep amber color with a thick off white head with very good lacing.Also a very pleasant soft carbonation.Excellent beer for summer or fall.Can drink quite a few in one sitting even at 6% abv.Excellent job troegs!

May 7, 2008 This beer is more like an APA. Strong hop presence combined with a sweet caramel taste and mild citrus flavors make it very enjoyable. Possibly the best beer they make.

May 4, 2008 Purchased at Total Wine in Alexandria, 12 oz bottle pours ruby amber in color with little head. Aroma of caramel and roasted grains. Front palate of warm malt with spicy (nutmeg, cinnamon, clove?) middle and finish of mild but crisp hoppiness to give a well rounded flavor. Easily paired with a variety of light to mid-weight fare. Great for a spring, summer or autumn session beer.
