Commercial Description:
Troegs HopBack Amber gets its unique name and taste from the HopBack Vessel in our brewhouse. Packed full of whole flower hops, each batch circulates through the vessel, creating a fresh hoppy aroma, spicy taste and rich caramel note that defines this signature amber ale.

Pours a rick amber color with a small whit head. Aroma is citrus hops. Very well balanced flavor of sweet malts and hops. Not bad at all. Lots of hop flavor without a lot of bitterness? Very strange but good.

Troeg’s HopBack Amber Ale is a good hoppy, yet balanced, amber ale with a white head.

12 oz bottle. Deep amber coloured brew with a thick white head. Aroma is great... bright juicy hop aroma. Grapefruit and lots of spicy sweetness. A lovely caramel/cookie dough malt base with a hint of toast as well. Excellent balance. Tasty sweet citrus hops over a fresh biscuity malt base. Moderate bitterness, but loads of hop flavour.

Clear amber with a frothy tan head. Nice spicy hop smell with bready malts. Med bodied with a super smooth mouthfeel. Good taste is well balanced with caramel malt and a nice piney spicy hop bitterness to finish. A regular in my fridg. 71406

This beer is the definition of balance. Rich caramel flavor balanced out with fruity hops. Very nice.

Ehhh...just didn’t do it for me. Pour was dark amber, little head or lacing. The flavor was heavy grapefruit with some caramel/toffee sweetness that seemed out of place. I just didn’t like it. Got even sweeter and more grapefruity as it warmed and the two flavors just didn’t "go" in my opinion.

Pours a nice dark amber color w/ a slight head. Light hoppy aroma, had a light taste with a bit of a pine in the after taste. Very drinkable, will definitely have again.
