Dec 21, 2007 Nice and very hoppy. Almost tastes like an APA but with a nice maltyness to it. Pours a copper hazey grapfruit color. Some citrus evident.

Dec 17, 2007 Bottled. Poured clear, deep amber with a short-lived cap of off-white head. The aroma had some juicy light-medium skinned fruits, grapefruit, and caramel.. well-hopped with sufficient maltage to back it up.. nice! The flavor had a bunch of fruit and caramel at the core with juicy grapefruit and some spicy bitterness around.. bright and lightly-toasted.. tasty! Light-medium bodied with a thicker middle and a short, grainy bitter finish.. a bit tacky at times, and the slightest bit stale. Still a solid beer overall.

Dec 6, 2007 Pours a dark amber color with a nice off white head. Aromas of malt and some hops. Nice biiter hop flavor to start things off,very nicely balanced with a sweet caramel malt backing.Nice smooth hop/bitter finish to it.Very good! Thanks Ubamartian!

Dec 1, 2007 Bottle. Pours an amber, very slight haze, small white head. Aroma was dominated by hops, but not over the top, maybe a touch of caramel. Flavor was slightly sweet, hops again, caramel and grapefruit hidden in the background.

Nov 30, 2007 A scary dark amber color, balanced malt and hop aroma,thought for sure the hops would knock me off my chair,but that didn’t happen,taste was a surprisingly sweet malt and lots of bittering hops,alright flavoring hops do become more evident on about the third tip .A wonderful malt hop balance, each has a lot to say to you, really interesting. Nov 25, 2007 Cask @ Rustico in Alexandria VA. Pours pretty dark cloudy copper. Nice big hoppy nose on this one. Taste is sweet hoppy, chewy with a nice hoppy bite and a malty edge.

Nov 22, 2007 Bottle. Pours reddish brown w/ a sudsy head. Malty caramel-ish hoppy aroma. Exceptionally smooth taste with a great hoppy/sweet balance. Kinda tastes honeyish. Delicious.

Nov 16, 2007 Hopback is a fitting name for this beer - the aroma is unmistakeably of hops, and there is only a slight amount of bitterness. There is also a taste of citrus and flowers. This is a surprisingly good brew, very hoppy.
