| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 1, 2006 Bottle. Pours a cloudy copper-amber coloured body with a small white head. The aroma is fantastic for what apparently is classified as an Amber ale. It’s very hoppy and there is some caramel, yeast, and bread substance. Flavourful spicey hops and a nice resinous bite...finishing with a flavourful of sweet bread.
Very good! beerbuddha1931 (3), USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 1, 2006 Enlightened hoppy fruity amber ale, one of Troegs best brews. Flavorful with beautiful aroma. agl108 (509), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2006 12 oz. bottle at Flat Rock Saloon. Pours amber with very thin white head. Spicy hops dominate the flavor although there is a nice malt backbone. Pretty unique for an amber ale; definitely more hoppy than others I’ve tried. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2006 Clear amber, thin head. Caramel hop and toasted malt aroma with some earth. Caramel flavor with a low hop compliment. Has some perfume and metallic notes. Rather watery in body. Finishes a bit dirty. Not the greatest, but I could see how when very fresh and on draught it could be quite good. beachbum25 (797), Powellville, Maryland, USA

Overly hopped flavor up front w/no real malt or bitterness to balance it out. Much hoppier than most ambers, really drownds out the typical amber flavor which I enjoy. Metalic overly hopped aftertaste. I would not drink this again, but a "hophead" would probably enjoy it. seeknay36 (109), Port Jefferson Station, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2006 Bottle. Nice amber color that pours with a medium head. More hops in the aroma then in the palate, do I sense a bit of floral sweetness? If you like a hoppy amber this is for you. Not a favorite but an ale that I would look for when available. ealdent (45), Cumming, Georgia, USA

Strong caramel and hoppy flavor make a really good, though not unique, combination. Head dissipated quickly. The flavor was somewhat better than I expected, the carmel grains in the aroma also came through in the flavor. Finishing rather hoppy and pleasent.
