May 14, 2008 Best session beer i ever had!Beautiful hop aroma with slight grapefruit maybe a very slight spice and good solid caramel malt backbone.Flavor perfectly matching the aroma.Not to bitter but yet very hoppy.Good complexity but very drinkable.
Very well balanced.Beautiful deep amber color with a thick off white head with very good lacing.Also a very pleasant soft carbonation.Excellent beer for summer or fall.Can drink quite a few in one sitting even at 6% abv.Excellent job troegs!

Mar 6, 2009 Pours an orangish amber, light head. Nice floral aroma. Excellent hop flavor and nice bitterness. Clean finish that leaves you wanting another one. At 6.0 they sneak up on you. This beer is a must for hopheads.

Aug 12, 2009 Tröegs HopBack Amber Ale is a very clear, solid amber ale with a thick, dense, yellowish head that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a fresh hoppy aroma, citrusy and grassy with a hint of sweetness. It’s medium bodied, foamy and very smooth. The finish is clean and dry. This is beautifully balanced. That touch of sweetness seems to go with both the juicy hops and the caramel malt. There’s a little bit of roastiness in the after taste. This is an ideal beer!

Feb 18, 2003 This was an outstanding amber ale. Beautiful color with a lasting white head. Nice hoppiness thoughout and the malt keeps the beer in balance from start to finish. A great beer.

Jun 9, 2004 Smells hoppy, looks like an light amber hue. Picture perfect appearance. First sip, grapefruit flavor, nice gravity, mouthful feeling. This is an excellent beer. Will definitely be in aquisition mode when it comes to sampling the rest of this breweries product line. Excellent Amber.
