THIS IS A VERY IMPRESSIVE BREW. IT POURS A DARK RICH BLACK BUT LACKS THE RICH HEAD OF AN AVERAGE STOUT, ALTHOUGH IT HAS ONLY A SLIGHT COFFEE AROMA IT TASTES SUPRISINGLY OF WONDERFULL SLIGHTLY BITTER HOPS, PREMIUM COFFEE AND A HINT OF VANILLA , THE NICE LEVEL OF CARBONATION IT HAS LACES THE TOUNGE WELL, HARD TO BELIEVE ITS A STOUT I WOULD THINK IT WAS A BROWN ALE. VERY GOOD.

Dec 7, 2009 @Uno’s Caskfest-pours a rich dark tan head that laces and dark brown with red color. Aroma is pine hops, roasty-dark malt. Taste is coffee/roasty-dark malt, secondary resin hops.

Dec 6, 2009 Beautiful black pour with a boisterous, fine bubbled tan head. Lacing is evident immediately. Aroma is hop heavy for the style- earthy loam, mocha, evergreen, caramel, chocolate, toffee, and roasted barley. Flavor has quite the bite- dark roast coffee and resinous hop characteristics combine to make for an abrasive but enjoyable flavor arrangement. Tons of dark chocolate, espresso, spruce, citrus, and caramel with more mild notes of cream and roast. Palate is medium to full with a silky, creamy velvet mouth feel and a chalky roast oriented dryness in the finish.

Dec 6, 2009 Dark body with a caramel colored head. Aroma has a strong initial hop character with notes of coffee, caramel and almost hidden sour citrus. Body is medium with flavors of coffee with the hops coming through. Finishes off with a mouth feel similar to an IPA with a dryer feeling on the tongue. Overall, this is a rather unique take on the stout style though quite delicious all the same.

Dec 6, 2009 No coffee aroma, no coffee taste. This beer is very smooth and slides down real easy. Finishes with avery slight undertone of maybe coffee-esque. But not really. The beer is good and worth a try, but it was a let down from an otherwise good brewery.

Dec 4, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pitch black pour. Doesn’t really smell like much - subtle coffee notes, as expected, but nothing huge. Taste is kinda a letdown too - the coffee is there, but it’s in the background. Not a huge coffee bite like I was expecting. A good beer, sure, but far from the best coffee stout I’ve tried.

Nov 29, 2009 Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head recedes to hug rim. Chocolate and espresso aromas. Thin with vanilla, chocolate and sweet espresso. Lasting coffee finish.

Nov 29, 2009 pours a very black color with a huge mocha colored head...some sediment visible throughout...nice lacing and retention. aroma is not as bold as i expected but does have coffee dominating it...also the faintest hint of a dusty aroma. flavor has some roastiness and burnt qualities and mild coffee...a touch of milkiness too..not as complex as i expected. excellent creamy mouthfeel...velvety and lively...with a lingering roasty coffee finish. pretty nice but i was expecting more out of this one...

Nov 27, 2009 Black, coffee infused stout, malt, oatmeal, and medium bitterness. Picked up a bomber @ premium price, enjoyed Java Head, but it left me yearning for more.
