Pouring at their booth at BCTC. Pours a hazy brown with a thin white head. Candy, caramel, and fruit on the nose. Flavor for some reason reminds me strongly of SPREE candies… not sure why that is exactly. More candy notes on the finish.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 24, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy coppery amber with a small white head. Aroma of candied sugar, malt, banana and cloves. Taste of candied sugar and malt, banana, cloves and yeast. Earlier Rating: 9/5/2007 Total Score: 3.8 On tap at Zeno’s. Pours a caramel color with a small beige head. Malty fruity aroma with hints of spice. Taste is malty and fruity, much like the Mad Elf, only lighter and without the spices. Nice. ljay6880 (156), , Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 23, 2009 12 oz draft served in a tulip glass. Poured a hazy amber with a 2 inch pillow of thick white head. Nose is malt, yeast, and a bit of spice. Taste is much the same. This was a very good brew from Troegs. There was enough to variety on the palate to make it interesting, yet not an onslaught, like Mad Elf (which is also a good beer), so that it is much more sessionable. Very good beer, and I suspect that the ABV could prove quite sneaky! machfive55 (234), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2009 Poured a cloudy light brown with a huge head, sampled in the tasting room. The beer had a good palate with light carbonation but good head, the alcohol was not very present and did not offer much of a warming sensation. The beer has a prominent spice flavor from the yeast, a corriander presence, some light fruity esters but not overpowering. The hops are litterally absent but that is not a drawback to the beer. This is a pretty big beer but goes down very easy. Adam77 (409), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA

Aroma of spice and fruit. Some cherry and cinnamon flavor. Harsh finish. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA
