AlphaBear (10), Pennsylvania, USA Nov 17, 2009 Citrus and heavy hop aroma that makes your mouth water. Pours an orange/amber colo with a fluffy whtie head with a very nice lacing. Delicious hop flavor and balance that is refreshing and delcious. By far one of the best IPAs that I have had! madmitch76 (493), , Essex, England Nov 15, 2009 29th June 2008. Amber beer. Packed full of hops but no astringence or bitterness. Refreshing and well balanced. jeremyb (2), Henrietta, New York, USA does not count Nov 13, 2009 One of my favorite beers, when available. It has a nice honey, hoppy taste, with a particularly nice finish. jmm635 (254), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 5, 2009 Poured from cask. Orange-copper color with a really thick fluffy head. Smells wonderful! Tons of hops yet cut with a fruity sweetness. Flavor could have been more hoppy for me, but for most people this is probably right on. Palate was fantastic. So creamy and smooth with a long finish. Can’t believe I live in Philly and haven’t had this before today! Skyview (4010), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Nov 1, 2009 I’ve been chasing this one down for a year. Sampled from 12-oz bottle during Darkness Day 2009 in Brooklyn Center, MN. Pours a semi-hazy copper colored brew with a decent off-white head that has some nice retention. Aroma of citrus zest with grapefruit, a hint of caramel malt, and some pineapple. Taste is medium bodied, some fruity background with golden grain and caramel malt, grapefruit/pineapple and a touch of biscuit. Finish is typical IPA with a lingering mild bitterness that slowly disappears. Solid IPA overall. JK (2949), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Oct 24, 2009 Big hop aroma. Lots of sweet malt for balance, on cloudy, dark yellow beer. Heavy palate, but alcoool is hidden. The hops are prominent in this beer, but almost balanced by the malt. A very good ipa. mansquito (821), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Oct 23, 2009 Saw this out of season in a Cask! Legit! I wanted to try this beer for a while, so I was very excited. Pours a nice amber body with a foamy white head (although I should note that the beer was filled almost to the brim so I didn’t really experience the head). Smells great. There are like six different fruity smells in there, along with some nice moderate hop action. I don’t know if it was because of the cask or the beer, but, very little carbonation. Taste has nice amount of hops, but not too many. Tons of fruity flavors. High alcohol content unnoticeable. Perfectly balanced, with a miraculous mouthfeel. Dank beer, dank indeed. I want more, plain and simple. doublea (16), , California, USA Oct 19, 2009 Review from 2/7/09.
Thanks Onedropsoup for the 6-pack!
This is my first bottle of Nugget Nectar after somehow missing it the past two releases...opening my first bottle, the aroma is one of the best I’ve ever smelled! Wow, grapefruit, pine, hops galore and orange/pineapple citrus!
Color is a clear amber/orange with mild carbonation. Head is big, white and puffy with some lacing on the glass. Taste is sweet/malty and then the hops hit big time. Awesome!
