A beautiful deep amber body under an off white head. Full of sweetness and bitterness so very nicely balanced. Pine, citrus and rind all meet in a deep and delicious beer. baggio (199), norrtälje, Sweden

Apperance: Golden copper with huge head and lots of lacing.
Aroma: Grapefruit, Apricot, Grass, Caramel, Pine.
Flavor: Grapefruit, Apricot, Grass, Toffee, Hops, Caramel.
Palate: Massive attack of hops upfront that is nicely balanced out with a healthy dose of sweet malt. Very very balanced!
I must thank Tröegs for making this lovely beer and making a mediocre saturday night into a really good one. This is hopjuice at its finest.

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Bottle. Came for the hype, stayed for the tasty beer. Pretty white fluffy head begins lacing immediately. Massive pine aroma - you could make a Yankee candle out of this scent. Great mouthfeel, very substantial. Bitterness is immediate but surprisingly pleasant. Fills the mouth. I think the hope are well balanced. I don’t think I realized how much I liked this beer until I sat down to rate it. And now they are all gone. :( f351c4v (411), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Pours a clear amber color with a lacing white head. Fresh cut hop aroma mixed with some malts. Well balanced body, malty upfront with a thick, hoppy finish. Quite good. smetrick (18), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 13, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours and looks like most other IPAs; however a different experience when tasted. A delightful fragrant nose, smooth body feels good in the mouth, and a great balance of hops and malt. The best IPAs IMO are the balanced ones and this is one of the best I’ve tried (dogfish head too)- but I tend to drink local beers. Affordable and quaffable. Available only from late fall to winter. msante79 (855), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2009 12oz bottle. Finally get to try this brew thanks to Mrchoppin. Pours hazy amber with thin off-white head. Aroma is strong with citrus, hops, caramel and a touch of pine. Flavor is bitter hops, grapefruit, sweet malts and caramel. More malt than I thought there would be. Could use some citrus hops for my palate. Like this better the Hopback but was expecting a little more. Pretty solid brew though. trevor211 (523), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Big thanks to JB175 for the bottle! Imperial Amber my left foot! This is an IIPA all the way through. Pours a transparent orange, with a smallish head. Aroma is hops, hops and more hops. Look at the label and believe it - this actually has notes of pineapple it’s so hoppy. So resiny it’s sweet. Just enough caramel malt to balance. Flavor is right there - big, big citrus and pine hop notes, with the malts holding off until the aftertaste. Great dry finish, thick mouthfeel - this is delicious! It says "Imperial Amber" on the bottle, but the flavor and aroma are clearly an IPA (IMO). The first thing that I noticed is that both the label on the neck and the label on the body of the bottle were put on crookedly.
Bronze in color with a one finger white head, it leaves nice lacing on the glass. the flavor is hoppy with a nice malty finish. It’s supposed to be 93ish IBU’s but it’s not a hop bomb/monster. the bitterness is very nice. This is a very nice beer
