| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 28, 2008 Poured a deep reddish amber with a small but dense head that dissipated fairly quickly leaving a decent lacing on the glass. Wow! Big time piny hop smell with some floral and citrus undertones. Truly wonderful smell, like walking through a pine forest. Not surprisingly, the piny hop bitterness hits first but is balanced by a nice fruity taste which lingers a little until the hoppy bitterness finishes off the job. Extremely well balanced. Full bodied yet crisp with a very smooth aftertaste. I really enjoyed this one and it’s very drinkable. I could definitely have a few of these in a sitting. obguthr (1031), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Pineapple and grapefruit aroma with more of the latter. Clear amber pour with a medium to thin yellow head, nice lacing. Grapefruit and pine needle flavor. Grapefruit peel finish. Good strength and balance, a hophead’s delight. The attraction is not in the quantity of hops but in the quality and selection. Lothore (276), California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a golden amber hue, completely clear with some carbonation visible. Small, white, fizzy head.
S- Smells like a typical red except hoppier. Very strong malt presence with piney in your face hops.
T- I usually don’t dig red ales but this one really grows on you. The malt is what dissuades me but the sheer hoppiness of this brew completely overpowers it in a good way. Definitely could be called Imperial red ale. Sweet bread character comes out a bit as it warms.
M- High amount of carbonation and about medium viscosity.
D- This is definitely a hop bomb but it does it in a way that makes you love it. I don’t find myself wanting another one right away but it was certainly delicious while it lasted. hapjydeuce (771), Del Mar, California, USA

Wonderful biscuit aroma with tons of juicy grapefruit character, light cocoa powder and crystal malt. Ginger spice and lemon pepper as well. Thick and malty flavor that starts toasty and ends with bittersweet and drying tannins. Really good! Clear amber color with appetizing head development and lacing; this looks like it poured right from the tap. Long lasting cheek-biting, green finish. Nicely balanced overall. Great stuff, I could drink this everyday! Butters (1652), Virginia, USA

I’m not even a hophead, but after sharing one bottle with my wife, I have stockpiled three cases to ration out until next year’s release. I must say that this beer is best immediately after bottling. I have noticed that the hops (while remaining extremely present) do lose some potency as the months progress. Beautiful color, amazing aroma, fantastic flavor, and a hop-tastic finish! fiver29 (723), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 20, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Sparky27. Pours an orange color with an off white head that slowly dissipates. Hop smells fills the air when I pour it in the glass. I didn’t have to put the glass to my nose to catch a whiff of lovely hops. When I put it to my nose it has strong pine and grapefruit coming from the glass. Has a medium mouthfeel and tastes like the grapefruit juice I had at breakfast this morning. There is little malt flavor, though I know its there. Laces the glass as you drink it. Tasty brew. KAggie97 (2458), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA

Pours a delicious and dense cheddar yellow with an aroma of pine, grapefruit, and orange slices. Flavor is a nice can of orange slices with hints of grapefruit and slight bits of pine in the finish. Very nice balance of sour and more sour. Full mouthfeel; flavors are spread nicely. Very good brew. Worth a second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, etc. try. Love is suicide.
