| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2009 Creamy head, honey colored clear body that is light and well carbonated. Taste gets better when left to sit for a bit, bringing out a hint of a caramel flavor over the citrus taste. Well balanced. I found it very drinkable. scrizzz (1325), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 5, 2009 Beautiful clear dark copper, sticky clingy white head. Fresh oily hop aroma lacks the resin I was expecting but has a nice moderate caramel base. Helluva beer, doesn’t seem to come close to 93 IBUs but as an IPA it’s great. Clean bitterness up front, abrasive lingering finish. Rich toasty dense chewy grain keeps all of the hops in balance. Good times. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 3, 2009 Bottle. Rich amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Rich grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and malt flavor with caramel. Medium bodied. Caramel lingers with grapefruit. Nice hop flavor, but I want more bitterness. BeerBunker (616), Burbank, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma is of hops, caramel, citrus, and pine. Smells very juicy and inviting. Taste is more subdued than the aroma. This may be due to the fact that it is several months old. Taste is of sweet and juicy hops, citrus, and pine, with some nice floral notes to it. Has a caramel malt backbone that evens this beer out. Alcohol is barely present. A few months on it, and it goes from a very hoppy beer to a very enjoyable and sessionable beer. I enjoyed it. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2009 Pours a copper amber with thin white head. Aroma of floral hops, malt, and spice. Flavor of hops that are well balanced by the malt, pine, and spices. Reminds me of a nice attempt at a DIPA, but one that couldn’t quite get the flavors to the forefront. Overall, not bad, but slightly disappointing. hopheadjohn (5), Manasquan, New Jersey, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Purchased on a PA pilgrimage as part of a 3-case mix & match with friends. Bells 2HA, Green Flash WC-IPA, & Troegs NN. Not as hoppy as the aforementioned titans, but balanced & enjoyable none the less. Agree with others that it’s aroma & mouthfeel are more like a DIPA or Imperial. I will look for this again. Jsawyer (286), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Hallelujah! The body literally looks like a piece of effulgent amber. The aroma is unforgettable; hops, hops, hops, and then some hops. Yet somehow its balanced; it’s an Imperial Amber not an IPA. So the flavor won’t floor you. It’s smooth hoppy crisp, pine and grapefruit, amber malt, maybe even a little chocolate in there. Don’t expect a huge amount of bitterness here. Palate is medium bodied. You can drink this stuff forever. Just amazing.
