This was a really great IPA. The color was cloudy gold with a thin white head. The taste was very balanced despite the amount of hops. This is really worth a try. RE-RATE: 2/4/06 From Bottle: This was bottled about a week ago and it has to be one of my favorite beers. So fresh, so balanced, and so juicy with hops that it isn’t even funny. Darker in color (more amber) than the draft version. I loved this beer and I bet you will to. Highly recommended.

Style; glass: India Pale Ale/Imperial Amber; tulip 22 fl oz x 7.5% ABV = 165 / 60 = 2.75 beers * 150 C = 412.5 calories (est.) Purchased at: Canal’s Burlington, NJ for $5.99 A beautiful deep amber body under an off white head. Full of sweetness and bitterness so very nicely balanced. Pine, citrus and rind all meet in a deep and delicious beer.

One of my absolute favorites. If you are not a fan of hops then this is not the beer for you. Not a complex beer at all- it gets straight to the point- hops. Very piney aroma and it tastes just like it smells. Nice prickly carbonation without much head. The hop aroma burns your nostrils as you sip from the glass, but the flavor has more of a tang than a bitterness. A very well-done, perfectly balanced ale that’s worth waiting to get only once a year. I also toured the Troegs brewery in Harrisburg. A very nice, down-to-earth bunch of people I must add.

Wow! A nearly perfect beer. Very hoppy, yet not too bitter. Troegs has come through once again!

Troegs Nugget Nectar is a very clear amber ale with a dense, foamy, yellowed off-white head that leaves outstanding lacing. How can a beer be this hoppy and this clear? Who knows? The aroma is a huge blast of fresh American hops. It smells like a handful of hops. It’s no lie. It is medium bodied, very smooth and a touch fizzy. The finish is crisp, dry, and clean. It has a bold pine flavor with juicy citrus peel. It tastes like... essence of American hops. It’s hard to detect the malt. There may be a touch of pretzel. There is no distracting sweetness. It’s a miracle beer for hop heads. It really doesn’t come off as all that bitter. It’s just hoppy! How do they do this? It’s fantastic!

12oz bottle from The Liquor Shop in Tyngsboro, Mass. Pours a crystal-clear amber with nearly an inch of off-white head that leaves some decent lacing. Leafy grassy citrussy minty, pithy hops dominate with a good amount of caramel and toffee to balance it out. Citrussy minty pithy grassy hops dominate at first, with plenty of caramel toffee malt, with hints of chocolate and caramel malt to balance this beer and make it not a complete hop bomb, though it’s definitely hop-forward. Super flavorful, no flaws to be found. Medium in body with ample carbonation makes this one very drinkable considering the ABV and complexity. Possibly the best American amber I’ve ever had. Absolutely phenomenal.

What can I say? One of the finest beers I have ever tasted. Smooth and so very hoppy, what more could anyone ask for?
