Aroma that accompanies oatmeal stouts was quickly recognizable. Slight coffee and chocolate notes in the aroma as well. Taste was much of the same but was there maybe a hint of alcohol in the taste? A wonderful beer that left me wanting more... too bad I only bought a single! bubbleflubber (900), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 18, 2006 Roasted coffee bean aromas, with a smidge of dark leafy-fruit tart notes. Pours opaque into the glass, with a retaining tan head. A touch of alcohol graces a coffee dominant flavor, with traces of dark chocolate....lightly sweetened. Has a full-bodied roasted cocoa finish, with notes of smoke and almonds. A very nice complimentary brew; all facets mold nicely and are extremely well-balanced. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2006 Bottle, deep dark brown pour. Big roasty malt aroma, with some chocolate and coffee. Big roasty chocolate flavors, semi-sweet, with more coffee. Kinda creamy - I’ve had creamier oatmeal stouts. But the oatmeal was definitely detectable in body. Clean light bitter finish. Overall a very nice stout. kingfiogojr (78), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2006 Pours deep brown, bought a 6 pack from N. Charles Fine Wines, Baltimore. Definite Coffee overtones in this beer. Not really super "thick", actually it’s medium bodied, which delighted me, because I’m so used to knocking down very VERY heavy stouts. The bitterness is not very high, and it’s a very enjoyable coffee/sweet beer. Reccomended, especially for Winter. mhoster56 (34), Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2006 Bottle. A mild hoppy flavor with a solid kick of coffee. Also has a molassas undertone. It has a slightly dry finish with a medium body. The alcohol content is perfect and not overpowering in any capacity. Birdiebeagle (815), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2006 Bottle Pours black with a creamy lasting brown-red head, which produces good lacing. Has a deep malty aroma of chocolate. Has a full body with a thick texture. Has an average carbonation with a good bitter finish. Has a good duration. Good stout flavor. This is a very tasty stout. blankboy (3251), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 17, 2006 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry courtesy of Thaichile. Pours a very dark brown with an average size foamy light-brown head. Mild aroma of caramel malt, light roastiness, chocolate and very mild hops. Very smooth flavour follows the aroma and is dry and roasty but could be more flavourful, it’s a bit mild. Medium bodied. Nothing outstanding but a good solid Stout. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 15, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, his bottle. Poured deep ruby-brown with a solid rocky tan head. Dry, deep roasty nutty/chocolately/coffee aroma, hint of fruits and a bigger hint of mushrooms. Taste followed right on from the aroma, just more ’shrooms and a hint of cranberry & lactose, very smooth and subtle. Has an average stout body, with a longish dry roast bitter linger, and a bit of carbonation that lasted out my glass. Quite nice, nothing outstanding, but solid.
