| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 12, 2005 bottle-thanks to hopdog for this fine stout! pours pretty much black with a small soapy tan head. aroma of hops (resiny, earthy), lots of roast and big expresso. medium body with moderate carbonation and a nice velvety mouthfeal. lots of roast and expresso flavors with a nice dose of hop bitterness in there. Long expresso finish. Some vanilla bean comes out as it warmed a little. some light smokey notes come out as well in the finish. I dig it-one of the better of this style if you ask me. Pours motor oil dark, fast disapating brown head, very carbonated. Aroma of chocolate. Flavor is very hoppy, roasty with faint chocolate flavor, slightly bitter. As it warmed I started to taste a faint oatmeal flavor. i’m not a huge hop fan. Not very complex or velvety as I had in a sweet stout. Easy to drink nonetheless Nejhleader (929), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Thanks to my boy Brian for this one. Thick black body with a well formed, fluffy beige head that lasted all the way through. Rich maple, hoppy aroma. Roasty flavor that fills the mouth, also a nice chocolatey finish. Mouthfeel I think is extraordinary, coats the mouth with a velvety smooth roastyness. Wonderful, just about everything I could want in a stout. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2005 Bottle. Good dark brown pour with a thick tan head. Great head retentioin and excellent lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and citrus. Very nice flavor, I really like the citrus in this one. Suggestions of carmel and courant also come into play. Mouthfeel is bitter with the a fruity flavor at first and then oatmeal in the aftertaste. Really good stout. mephisto (1144), Taiwan
