Commercial Description:
TASTING NOTES Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is our interpretation of the classic dry stout style. Dark and creamy with hints of chocolate and black currants, our Oatmeal Stout includes a healthy dose of Centennial and Chinook hops creating a unique stout perfect for the late Fall and Winter.

FOOD COMPLEMENTS With a full-bodied, creamy finish, Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is best with desserts; it is the perfect companion to dark chocolates, cocoa-based treats, caramels, peanut butter desserts and vanilla ice cream.

Pours ink black with a rocky mocha-colored head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and burnt chocolate. Flavor is quite sweet, some bakers chocolate, roasted almonds, and a delicate bitterness at the end. Very enjoyable.

Thanks Argo3000!. Stoutish appearance. Black, opaque, with a moderate brown head. Aroma is chocolate with a lot of burnt flavors many even smokey. Flavor is slight to moderately aciditic. Finish is tart for an oatmeal stout, but good never the less!

Deep translucent red-brown, medium tan head. Aroma of rich chocolate, toast, coffee, and hints of soy and molasses. Nice creamy body with layers of rich roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. A tad sweet with some residual burnt sugars lurking beneath the roasts. This is a very nice sweet stout, medium-bodied, complex, and smooth. Sent my way by Dan (jah noth).

Man, I don’t know what to say other than that this is a really great Oatmeal Stout. Right up there with Sam Smiths. Very malty sweet with delicious chocolate notes. Since I have gotten into stouts, its all about Dark Chocolate now Similar to other Troegs in some ways. .

Bottled, Deep rich brown/black with receding tan head. Very little head but consistent lacing. Aroma, is malty sweet. Initial taste is noticible alcohol, but finish is bitter cocoa. Taste is oaky, roasty and all together ok. Good stout but definitely not my favorite of the season.

[12 oz. bottle] Deep brown/black pour with not much of a head to speak of. Looks like oil. Very inviting and rich aroma of roasted malt, coffee and sweet oatmeal. Smooth and rich taste. Begins with a smooth and creamy coffee and oatmeal combination and goes smoothly to a malty and coffee middle with a semi-sweet coffee finish. Very good quality stout.

Opaque brownish black. Great coffee and oatmeal aroma. Rich malt flavor with some coffee and a bit of a bitter finish. Very good stout.

Dark appearance, lingering head. Taste is that of coffee with a sweet aftertaste. Pretty creamy with a decent amount of malt. Overall a rather enjoyable stout.
