| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 18, 2004 Pours extremely dark brown, almost black with a little bit of tan head. Aroma is roasty and a little chocolately. Tastes like sweet chocolate with a little oatmeal. Really cant detect the 7% abv. Overall, a good oatmeal stout. JPDIPSO (4939), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2004 Very dark brown color with a dark tan rocky head. Sweet malt and hints of chocolate and roasted malt in the aroma. Fairly thin, but very smooth in feel. Just saw the ABV. Sure wish it wasn’t quite as high. This is really sooth drinking. Nothing overly complex. Sweet toasted malts mingle with a bit of sour dough. Just hints of roasted malts in the finish. Also just noticed this was bottle 9/16/03, this has held up very well. I could enjoy many of these a cool fall night. Thanks jeffc666. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2004 Lighter side of black, hints of red, super creamy dark tan head. Very roasty with notes of chocolate, coffee, cream, light toffee, with a slight hint of sweet flaked oats. Flavor is similar with nice balance. A small amount of citric hops rounds this out nicely. Medium to full bodied, silky smooth, soft carbonation, dryish chocolate finish. Another nice one from the Troegs brothers.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 19, 2004 There just aren’t enough stouts in the world... even this one quenches the appetite. Fits the criteria like a charm. Black as night... sweet as chocolate... hopped with mocha and oats. Not the best stout by far. But still excellent. dthmtldgn (32), barrington, New Jersey, USA
