Commercial Description:
TASTING NOTES Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is our interpretation of the classic dry stout style. Dark and creamy with hints of chocolate and black currants, our Oatmeal Stout includes a healthy dose of Centennial and Chinook hops creating a unique stout perfect for the late Fall and Winter.

FOOD COMPLEMENTS With a full-bodied, creamy finish, Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is best with desserts; it is the perfect companion to dark chocolates, cocoa-based treats, caramels, peanut butter desserts and vanilla ice cream.

Very dark, almost black cola brown. The head is a nice tan and very dense and lasting. The aroma is a big pop of rich chocolate. Some oatmeal and caramel lurk below the chcolate marshmallows. There’s some dates swirling around in the flavor with a bit of roast supporting the sweeter elements. Very tasty and satisfying oatmeal stout.

Black color with a thin head. Alcohol and perhaps some oats on the nose. Bitter chocolate taste. Decent, but a tad overrated.

Pours with a two-finger light brown head that fades slowly and leaves a good lace. Totally black color. Light carbonation and heavy bodied. Nose is a strong coffee. Starts with a strong/burnt coffee flavor and finishes on a slightly bitter note but not a bad oatmeal stout. $1.55 for a 12 oz bottle; found at the Vintage Cellar, Blacksburg, VA.

Bottle 58FPours Very dark, black. with a rich dark tan head that i was hoping s\would stick around a while longer, settling to a thin sticky lacing. Aroma is bittersweet chocolate, coffee, prunes, molassas, fairly sweet. Taste is more of a charcoal, sooty, cohcolaty. Feel is extremely smooth and thick. Oily, very rich and heavy. Almost tastes foamy. The fallout on this is a smokey slightly bitter hint. Can hardly sense the 7% ABV. A terriffic Stout. Thanks goes out to Probiere for the trade.

to start, this was served as a cask brew, which means slightly warmer and less carbonation, goes down well and taste is much stronger. Toasty, chocolate, aroma, dark body, tan head, robust stout, rich and rewarding. Excellent.

Dark, dark brown color with a tan head. Sweet fruitiness with a bitter finish. Overall, it is pretty standard for a sweet stout.

Almost opaque black with a nice tan head. Nose is roasted coffee and chocolate with faint fruity tones. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Flavor was robust stout, rich and potent, coffee and chocolate in a nice balance. Deeeeelicious.
