| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2004 Very dark, almost black cola brown. The head is a nice tan and very dense and lasting. The aroma is a big pop of rich chocolate. Some oatmeal and caramel lurk below the chcolate marshmallows. There’s some dates swirling around in the flavor with a bit of roast supporting the sweeter elements. Very tasty and satisfying oatmeal stout. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 4, 2004 Pours with a two-finger light brown head that fades slowly and leaves a good lace. Totally black color. Light carbonation and heavy bodied. Nose is a strong coffee. Starts with a strong/burnt coffee flavor and finishes on a slightly bitter note but not a bad oatmeal stout. $1.55 for a 12 oz bottle; found at the Vintage Cellar, Blacksburg, VA. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 27, 2004 Bottle 58FPours Very dark, black. with a rich dark tan head that i was hoping s\would stick around a while longer, settling to a thin sticky lacing. Aroma is bittersweet chocolate, coffee, prunes, molassas, fairly sweet. Taste is more of a charcoal, sooty, cohcolaty. Feel is extremely smooth and thick. Oily, very rich and heavy. Almost tastes foamy. The fallout on this is a smokey slightly bitter hint. Can hardly sense the 7% ABV. A terriffic Stout. Thanks goes out to Probiere for the trade. Toasty, chocolate, aroma, dark body, tan head, robust stout, rich and rewarding. Excellent. r464 (286), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
