Pours dark and oily, with no light shining through at all, and a big fluffy tan head, that never dissipates. Lots of mocha, chocolate covered cherries, lots and lots of creamy oatmeal, and a syrupy mouthfeel, that would make this great with some coffee cake, as that is the taste that it makes me think of as I am drinking it. Wonderful! rhapsouldize (174), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 28, 2004 Medium bodied, opaque stout, with a dark tan long-lasting head; leaves a respectable amount of lace. Creamy and malty with mocha overtones; a great beer to have with (or as a) dessert. Leaves a significant impression on the palate as well, although the beer wasn't as thick as I had hoped. Pleasant aftertaste as well. All in all, a solid stout! jah noth (1017), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 25, 2004 This is a nice beer. Pours a VERY dark black with just a hint of crimson. Two inch caramel head and tons dripping foam on my glass. Nose of bitter chocolate and caramel sauce. Very rich flavor with good sweetness, lusciousness of the oats, nuttiness, caramel malt and a nice hop zing. a Very nice stout indeed! Yankovitch333 (612), Chesapeake City, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 22, 2004 Poured a thick oily black with a big thick foamy tan head that lasted. Aroma was of roasted malts and coffee. Nice thick mouthfeel. Coffee grounds, oatmeal, milk, roasted malts, and chocolate come through on the tongue. This was a nice stout. jasonp (1510), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA

Pours black with a thick creamy light brown head. Nice roasty aroma with some hops, raisins and a touch of maple syrup. Flavors of dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee and roasted malt. Mouthfeel is very full, thick, round and creamy. Dry finish. Leaves a nice roasty slightly burnt and bitter aftertaste. Good lacing and head retention. Highly recommended! ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 14, 2004 A rich smoky aroma full of dry wood and just a small hint of sweet fruit which barely resembles the aroma of an imperial. The flavor is instantly more sweet, with a peculiar dryness on the roof of the mouth that resembles a hop bitterness. Wonderful mouth feel, rich and smoky sweet flavor with a mellow dark chocolate and oatmeal finish, though at the finish it easy to notice a drastic pitfall of flavor. I'm diggin' this one. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA

Smooth taste of sweet vanilla end off with a strong dark chocolate flavor. Pretty friggin goo!! 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2004 Black with a chocolate milk head. Aroma is kinda bland cause its got an oatmeal feel, with some hints of choc. Body is a nice mix of oatmeal laced with chocoalte. Not bad at all.
