Commercial Description:
TASTING NOTES Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is our interpretation of the classic dry stout style. Dark and creamy with hints of chocolate and black currants, our Oatmeal Stout includes a healthy dose of Centennial and Chinook hops creating a unique stout perfect for the late Fall and Winter.

FOOD COMPLEMENTS With a full-bodied, creamy finish, Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is best with desserts; it is the perfect companion to dark chocolates, cocoa-based treats, caramels, peanut butter desserts and vanilla ice cream.

Pours a nice deep brown color that quickly turns black--head lasts a minute or two, foam sticks to the glass. Aroma is of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Tastes thick, pretty creamy and can taste the malt, chocolate and coffee. Pretty good stout and the best offering from Troegs yet.

Big black pour with big tan head. Big and bubbly. Not too impressed so far with Troegs. Roasted malt taste with coffee. Bitter hoppiness blends in very nicely. Nice smooth mouthfeel.

Thanks to MilkManDan for hand delivering this brew to me on your vacation, Very Generous of you!
Could this beers body be anymore opaque? I think not.
Could the caramel colored head on this Stout be any thicker or creamier? Possibly, but I wouldn’t want it to be.
The nose is full with oats, walnuts, almonds, vanilla, coco, cream, yummyness. The flavor certainly has more hops than I had anticipated. The malt is found in abundance. Huge notes of bittering black coffee, toasty chocolate malts, charred oak, ash and cinder, small notes of raisins but overpowered by the coffee. The palate is terrific, creamy and smooth.
Quality brewing here!

Prickly NW hops in the aroma, coffee and a touch of roast. Good firm sweet malt. Lingering finish with hints of brandyish alcohol. Smooth, rich and very, very nice. Thanks Dan!

Thick. black like coffe, with a large, dense, fine bubble head. Aroma of roasted amles and coffee. Smooth, smokey taste. Finises with a light sweetness. A damn good stout.

Very dark almost opaque stout. Nice suttle hop aroma followed by some roasted malt. Dark tan head that hangs around for a while. Nice mild hop flavor followed by the roasted malt. Very good medium body, an excellent oatmeal stout. The Trogner brothers did a good job on this one, I will be drinking this again! What I really like is they did not over use the hops, they have a very good balance of the hop and malt flavors.
