Commercial Description:
TASTING NOTES Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is our interpretation of the classic dry stout style. Dark and creamy with hints of chocolate and black currants, our Oatmeal Stout includes a healthy dose of Centennial and Chinook hops creating a unique stout perfect for the late Fall and Winter.

FOOD COMPLEMENTS With a full-bodied, creamy finish, Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is best with desserts; it is the perfect companion to dark chocolates, cocoa-based treats, caramels, peanut butter desserts and vanilla ice cream.

Hummm. This was a bitter sweet stout if that makes sense. Roasted maltiness in the form of Bitter dark chocolate in a big way. But pretty darn bitter overall, more so than I like.

Black with tan head. Aroma is slightly roasted chocolate and slight pine hops. Taste...I swear I’ve had this same beer before. Rich and creamy. Significant chocolate and a little smoke and chalk. Medium bitterness....I got it! THis is the same thing as the New Glarus Road Slush. A darn good stout.

A bit too bitter for my palate. I tried it with a piece of choclate and it was more satisfying, although not what I look for in my stout.

Pours dark brown, with a brown head. Aromas are hops, roasted malt and oatmeal, and a touch of caramel. Flavors are hops, oats, roasted malt, and coffee.

The aroma has oatmeal, coffee, toasted malt, nuts, and vanilla. The appearance is dark brown with a small foamy head. The flavor is not great even though it has some nice qualities. It has all the elements from the aroma plus some hop bitterness not detected in the aroma. The palate is ok but not as think as it should be. Overall its good but could be better.

Bottle from Kramer17801. Pours an opaque, very rich brown color with a very minimal head and just a tiny bit of lacing. ARoma is nutty and roasty with definite carmel hints and slightly bitter coffee (yummy)! Flavor is like slightly watererd down coffee with nutty, roasty and bitter hints. Slightly watery for a stout but an incredibly smooth (which comes from the caramel and vanilla) and enjoyable beer. Thanks Jason!

Pours a very dark brown with a medium tan head. Very complex beer is a nice mixture of chocolate, coffee, wood chips, and roasted nuts. Could have been a bit fuller bodied, but overall very nice.

Pours wtih a dark brown to black body topped by a medium thick, lasting head with lots of lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a slight roastiness and a hint of vanilla and coffee. Full bodied and smooth.
