Roasted maltiness in the form of Bitter dark chocolate in a big way. But pretty darn bitter overall, more so than I like. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA

Taste...I swear I’ve had this same beer before. Rich and creamy. Significant chocolate and a little smoke and chalk. Medium bitterness....I got it! THis is the same thing as the New Glarus Road Slush. A darn good stout. I tried it with a piece of choclate and it was more satisfying, although not what I look for in my stout. zathrus13 (1314), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 14, 2006 The aroma has oatmeal, coffee, toasted malt, nuts, and vanilla. The appearance is dark brown with a small foamy head. The flavor is not great even though it has some nice qualities. It has all the elements from the aroma plus some hop bitterness not detected in the aroma. The palate is ok but not as think as it should be. Overall its good but could be better. zug4abby (287), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Bottle from Kramer17801. Pours an opaque, very rich brown color with a very minimal head and just a tiny bit of lacing. ARoma is nutty and roasty with definite carmel hints and slightly bitter coffee (yummy)! Flavor is like slightly watererd down coffee with nutty, roasty and bitter hints. Slightly watery for a stout but an incredibly smooth (which comes from the caramel and vanilla) and enjoyable beer. Thanks Jason! lukin013 (211), Columbia, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2006 Pours a very dark brown with a medium tan head. Very complex beer is a nice mixture of chocolate, coffee, wood chips, and roasted nuts. Could have been a bit fuller bodied, but overall very nice. Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA
