Very nice lacing. Has a musty hop aroma. Kinda funky. Has a light sweet malt flavor. Leaves a slight bitter aftertaste. Medium to full body. A decent beer. Thanks Jason. Nose of clean hops, nice bouquet with the sweet malts. The flavor is balanced, clean, full bodied with a touch of bitterness and sweet caramel in the finish. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 23, 2006 I didn’t enjoy the aroma - hoppy and citrus, but smacking of cat urine. Clean graphics, dark gold beer, big webby head get this good appearance marks. I don’t like to let one beer rating color another, but this didn’t stack up well back-to-back with Avery 14er ESB. And I didn’t particulary enjoy the Avery 14er. This beer came off flabby and underbittered. Some citrus, moderately sweet. A slight hop resurrection in the somewhat starchy finish, but it’s a fadeaway flash. Medium body. zebracakes (1216), Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 17, 2006 Updated: Jun 26, 2006Bottle. Pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is citrus/floral and quite pleasant (I detected the smell right at pouring). Flavor is high on the floral at first (nice hops), fades to a mellow wheat hum. Very refreshing. Not bad. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2006 Bottle: Cloudy pale orange, with a thin white head, flowery citrus aroma with some dough, full bodied, starts and ends lightly bitter. A solid pale ale that is easy to drink. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2006 Pours out a yellow color with a white head. Laces the glass all the way to the end. Smells grassy, fruity, and sweet. Taste is not as profound on hops as I was expecting. Pleasing to drink, and the sweetness comes in to play as the beer warms up some. Good pale, if I could buy this, this would be my session beer of choice. HopBackDoc (395), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 15, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Amber color with a light head. Good blend of hops and malt. Dry, crisp and refreshing taste with the bitterness you’d expect from this style and this brewer. A real good beer, good session beer.
