Commercial Description:
Tröegs Pale Ale is an American style Pale Ale that is aggressively hopped with Northwest Cascades and balanced with Belgian crystal malts to create a hoppy, copper-colored crisp ale. An excellent example of a classic American Pale Ale.

Thanks AdamSkillin for the bottle. Very hoppy on the aroma. A little closer to amber than copper in color. The flavor manages to stay hoppy without overwhelming bitterness. Solid brew

Wow, you can smell hoppiness from miles away on this one. Head lingers, I would say more yellow than copper for the color. Actually smells kinda like the close cousin of the hops plant, Mary Jane. Actually a really pleasant taste, and not as bitter as I thought it would be. Huge hop flavor and aroma, not too much malt. Real nice beer.

This beer pours a brilliantly clear, amber tinged copper color that is topped by a frothy tan colored head. It has a fair level of carbonation which holds the head aloft. As the head falls it leaves a bit of lacing on the sides of the glass. The aroma has a nice up front hoppiness to it; it is dominated by grapefruit-like citrus notes but there is also a bit of pine thrown into the mix as well. As my nose gets used to the hop notes I detect a bit of dry toasted malt character that reminds me of lightly browned biscuits.

The taste has only a touch of sweetness up front, but does have a nice creamy mouth feel to it. There is a bit of malty caramel character here as well, it is fairly subtle and actually seems to contribute to the creamy mouth feel. This beer has an ample touch of hops though; it starts with a nice sharp bitterness which carries through to the finish. The citrus character is here, but it is downplayed a bit because of the dryness of the beer, instead there is an herbal pine note that dominates the soft citrus flavors.

This beer is a great example of a Pale Ale. This is a really easy drinking brew, with a great creamy mouthfeel. The malt though subdued plays an important role here; it really helps to balance the hops so that they are not too harsh.

This is a great pale ale, a bit darker in color than others that I’ve had. The flavor was full of hop character and very crisp. re-rate: sampled in tasting room. aroma is crisp balance of malt and hops that are slightly citrus. Copper colored with generous head that leaves good lacing. The flavor is really crisp and full of citrus it is also nice an malty. I really enjoyed it. Very refreshing

On tap at Brewery. Extremely well balanced, smooth, hops mixed into a not overpowering ale. This is not the one to drink if you want your head to explode with hops, but the pale ale to start out your non pale ale drinking friends on. It tastes really nice, has a very pleasing palae, and mixes the maerican citrusy hop flavors into a nice malted ale that takes the edge off very nicely and was still enjoyable to a hophead extremist like me.

Bottle courtesy of kramer17801. Pours Light copper with rocky white head. Great lacing. Pine and orange zest up front with some sweet malt background. Flavor just the opposite sweet malt hits first, quickly turns to biting piney and citrus hops. Becomes a little one-sided, decent nonetheless. Lingering hop bitterness. Bigger hop presence than alot of ipa’s I’ve had.

Bottle. Clear light amber body under a thin white head. Solid lacing. PNW hops in the aroma - orange peel and pollen over a cereal base. Pretty much the same in the flavor. Toasty finish.
