Commercial Description:
Tröegs Pale Ale is an American style Pale Ale that is aggressively hopped with Northwest Cascades and balanced with Belgian crystal malts to create a hoppy, copper-colored crisp ale. An excellent example of a classic American Pale Ale.

Poured an effervescent amber with a fizzy white head. Sweet hoppy aroma of pink grapefruit, candy, and grass. Taste is mildly striking hops, grass, a touch of toffee, and lemon. Average body. Clean and refreshing.

Hop aroma. Somewhat bitter. Yellow. Flavor of very light herbal hops. This is very good for the style.

One of my many favorites at Troegs. I actually prefer this bottled. Light golden color, very hoppy fragarence.

Excellent APA with spicy and aggressive american hopping. Nice hop aroma qith floral notes. Smooth palate, meandering malt keeps things centered. Good looking, another winner from what is quickly becoming my go-to brewery in the mid-atlantic.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with hopdog, thanks Steve!) The aromatic dominance of the hops is reminding me of west coast pale ales such as Pizza Port’s series of single-hopped pales -- aromatic, gently malty, and definitely balanced toward hops. There’s a bit more sweet maltiness in the flavor, though, and it offers a nice balance against the mildly bitter and spicy hops. Medium bodied, about what I expect from a pale ale, with perfect carbonation levels and a balanced, clean finish. Plentiful carbonation bubbles rise through the light golden colored beer, and amazingly, continue to do so without diminution throughout the session. And likewise, the off-white head pours to an average height, but retains a good quarter-inch throughout the session as well, leaving a dense but delicate scatter of dotty lacing. Not in the upper echelon of the style, but solid nonetheless.

Wow, good stuff! Loads of hops, all over the taste, nose, everywhere. Because of that I expected the colour to be a lot darker, but it was a fairly pale light colour. There isn’t a whole lot of malt flavour happening, but that’s okay for a hop head like me. Not the best pale ale, but a very good one.

Light orange pour....not very lively, only a little carbonation. Small white head that is gone quickly but does leave a healthy amount of lacing. Aroma is kinda malty. Mouthfeel is good...nice and crisp. Taste is malty on the front end and has just about the right amount of hop bitterness.

Pours a nice clear pale with good head and lacing. Grain and citrus hops in the nose. Good balanced hop flavor with good grain profile. Nice pale ale. I would drink this more often if I could get it around here.
