Commercial Description:
Tröegs Pale Ale is an American style Pale Ale that is aggressively hopped with Northwest Cascades and balanced with Belgian crystal malts to create a hoppy, copper-colored crisp ale. An excellent example of a classic American Pale Ale.

Mild citrus nose...Golden color, light whitish/yellow head. Very average in style, taste and body. Good but far from great.

(Bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a large off-whitte head. Aroma of florals and mild citrus. Mild hoppy flavor.

Poured a copper color with a small, off white head, that left spotty lacing on the glass. Muted, well balanced, citrus hops and malty aroma. Sweet caramel, piney, resiny hops, lightly minted taste. A surprisingly nice pale ale.

Beautiful pour…brilliant copper body with a tough white lacy head. Aroma is fresh and hoppy…I can smell it at arms length away. Delicious flavor; piney hop bite, malty background, bitter finish; yum. A bit too light bodied, but otherwise a winner.

Pours a copper color with a little bit of whitish head. Aroma is subdued citrus. Taste is nothing special. The hops are there, but very very subdued to the point that you can barely tatse them. Overall, I have to say I was pretty dissapointed with this one.

Deep golden in color with a pale white head. Aroma is citrusy, resiny, and fresh with some toasted, dry malt. Flavor is the same as the aroma (good) with just a touch of sweetness in the finish. Bitterness hits at mid-palate and holds into the long finish. My only criticism is that there is a slightly gummy, proteinaceous malt character in this beer. Otherwise it is perfect objectively.

Bottle. From Sampler. Pours with a frothy lasting head. Looks like this will be a good one. Good lacing with a clear amber color. Heavy grapefruit aroma with hints of leather, earth, and musty hops. Some toffee flavor with a medium body and creamy palate. Nice lively carbonation. Good lightly sweet malt with immediate floral hop bite that stays solidly and nicely even as it finishes. I like more citrus and pine in my hops with a pale ale, but this one is still good.

Large, off-white head which reduces slowly. Frothy on top. Light but persistent carbonation. Nice hoppy aroma with peaches and citrus. Something else that I can’t place. Color is a medium golden amber. Flavor is well balanced. Decent malt with a nice bit of hops. Little bit of bread also. Very soft mouthfeel. Very little bitterness for the hops. Finish is only slightly dry and bitter. A very good pale ale that will please most mass swill drinkers as well as those of us educated in the fine art of craft beer.
