Commercial Description:
Tröegs Rugged Trail Ale is a unique rendition of a classic English Brown. It has a deep bronze color, rocky head, and prominent Fuggle hop aroma. Toasted amber and Chocolate malts impart a "Nutty" richness and creamy velvet texture.

Pours brown with ruby highlights and a tiny, off-white head that quickly fades to a cover. The aroma is caramel, toffee, bread with a touch of golden raisins. The flavor is nuts, toffee and green grapes. The mouthfeel is light and thin.

Bottle from Ty. Enjoyed after a run and it had a mild flavor altogether. Some soft malt notes and a dash of toffee but very thin.

Thanks to DocLock for this one. Pours a dark red / brown with a faint head. Not much of an aroma. Maybe a little nutty. Only 4.4% so it went down real fast. Flavor is very mild malts and roasted nuts. The bark is worse than the bite. Not bad though.

Bottle shared with after4ever. Thanks! Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white head. Light body with restrained carbonation. A bit of molasses in the nose, and a bunch more in the taste. It sort of creeps up on you as you get closer to the bottom of the glass. Some nutty notes as well.

12-oz., thanks BeachBum25! This is a nice inoffensive little brown--great session beer. Pours crytal clear amber brown with some fluffy off-white suds atop. Fairly vacant nose, some decent caramel and slight nuttiness on the palate. Clean finish. You could put away an awful lot of these without thinking too much about it.

Clear brown, obvious carbonation, little head. Simple carmel aroma with some dishwater hints. Very watery. Mild nutty chocolate flavors.

Subtle, but I loved this one. Mild flavor, but very smooth and delicious. Another good one from the brothers Troeg.

Dark brown appearance, medium tan head, little lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, hints of coffee, with late developing nuttiness. Taste seems dead on for the style: malty, noticable nut-like quality, mild sweetness, with enough hops to add balance. Medium-bodied with a soft, sweet, lingering finish.
