Nov 19, 2005 Pours a red amber with a small tan head. Aroma of honey, nuts and caramel. Flavor is nutty with some light piney hops and in general a bit thin.

Nov 16, 2005 Draft at Philly Airport. Clear light brown pour with a large off white head. Malty aroma with hints of hazelnut. Watery malt bomb, with hints of acidity. Very little hop presence, not at all well balanced. Thin mouthfeel, some chocolate roasted malt to finish.

Nov 14, 2005 The beer pours to a thick, creamy beige head atop a clean brown body. Decent lacing. The aroma is nutty, sweet malts, bready. The flavor is nutty, toffee, bread, light chocolate. I’m digging this Brown even though I don’t like most of them. I’m not seeing why this only rates 3.34. :( Oh well. The palate is moderate at best. It does go well with the beer, though.

Nov 13, 2005 Bottle. Clear reddish mahogany, sudsy beige head, and spiderweb lacing. Subdued aromas of breadcust and raw winter squash. Very mild flavor, initially sweet, then toffee, breadcrust again, Hershey bar wrapper, and tin. Watery palate. Aftertaste is green-leafy, papery, and crayon-y. Very neutral and unassertive all around. Yawn.

Nov 8, 2005 Beer pours dark amber color with a modestly retained off white head. Aroma is nicely malty with some nice peanut nuttiness. An enjoyable beverage, but like so many brown ales, no wow factor. That is probably OK as this is a session type beer.

Nov 8, 2005 Clear reddish brown appearance, good head formation. Malty, dried cocoa, nutty aroma. Smooth dark roasted nutty chocolate flavor, hints of lingering cocoa powder. A little thin in body but fair enough overall.

Nov 5, 2005 Pours deep brown with small but nice tan head. Aroma is sweet carmel and roasted. and toasty malts, along with a slighty fruityness and a grainy feel. Flavor is nuttty and roasted. It has a malt sweetness and a carmel feel that also brings some fullness. A bit of a fruityness and overally nicely malted.
